February Song | Erik + Audrey (Flashback Dinner)
Audrey had been running back and forth running herself rapid. It had been awhile since she cooked, since she made a home-cooked meal based on one of her mama's recipes. With her dad out of town for the time being, working things out back home, she had some air to breathe, she had people she knew she could invite over, people she could trust. One of them being Erik. Erik had been one of her closest colleagues. He'd never once lied to her. She'd known about the affair, she knew about his flaws. In turn she knew him knowing of her past, of Nicolas having blackmailed her, had once put them within a rough spot, but she also recognized the pain in his eyes, the realization that what had occurred to Norah, to Olivia could very well have been her and nearly had as of recently. Nicolas had nearly broken her, he had taken everything away and beaten her to a bloody pulp but here she was having returned, at the prime of her life. A single mother, happily living it up in the social life as she once had prior to this big scary mess.
She needed more Eriks in her life. And then again, no. She only needed Erik.
Josiah was sleeping in his new nursery, Dolly and Edda were running around the apartment like they owned the place, one toy poodle verses a German shepherd puppy, that was certainly interesting. She felt like a mother to three children rather than one, her own son being the better behaved between the animals. In a way it made her smile. She felt warm again, safe. It was nice.
As she prepared the chicken and gravy, mashed potatoes she felt right at home, memories of her old kitchen at the farmhouse striking her heart strings as well as memories of her home in Connecticut, all those family dinners, the laughter, the caring, the love. Sighing she got the dishes out, gathered a couple glasses for wine and before she knew it her door bell rang. Buzzing from the front gate. Audrey turned on the monitor and smiled seeing his curious face. "Come on up." She beamed into her mic and pressed the release for his entry.
She probably looked a mess, her hair pulled back into a ponytail, apron still pressed to her body but she didn't care. She had a few last minute touches to throw together, some white calla lilies for the table, a bottle of her favorite Pinot Noir. As she heard him come in from the hallway she walked right back into the living room, the glasses in one hand, bottle of wine in the other.
"Well...what do you think?"
[OOC: This is what the apartment looks like].
@Erik
Erik? Oh God...what--what happened to you?! I have been worried sick!
