Not too long at all. I'm lucky enough to be a Californian and have rights, but we're still walking around in shock. I went to the local women's march, and we've joined the ACLU (Planned Parenthood is next), but I'm sort of at a loss as to what to do next. Phone calls, although those are slightly less useful when your congress people are all dems.
ALTHOUGH I was pointed to a video today of my little state of Rhode Island (GO, RHODE ISLAND, I LOVE YOU) in which one of their Democratic senators showed up at one of the protest marches and the crowd *took him to task.* Basically shouted at him to grow a spine and help out with the resistance. He did look a little taken aback and also a little chastened.
