For the very first time, a world première in the Grand Theatre will be shown live online during Noorderzon. On Friday 19 August, online viewers can watch the Phantom Limb Company performance entitled 69° S., which is now sold out. The livestream will start at 19.30 on www.gtlive.nl. The performance will be filmed live with a 360° video camera so that you, as a spectator, can look around as if you were really present. This unique online experiment is a co-operative venture of Grand Theatre Groningen, MvOurWorld and yellowBird. It will be the first time that online viewers can follow a theatre performance with live 360° video.
During Noorderzon, the New York group Phantom Limb Company will present the world première of 69° S. This is a large-scale puppet theatre show about pole explorer Ernest Shackleton. His story and the quest for the South Pole is one of courage, determination and hardship, as well as one of tender humanity.
