Here’s how I think Periss from ToTDC would interact with the AoR gang

He and Rian would definitely butt heads, in the sense that Rian would find Periss really annoying and incapable of taking anything seriously, while Periss would think the exact opposite of Rian, that he’s too uptight and takes things way too seriously. What he doesn’t know is that Rian criticizes him because he used the be the same way; carefree, naïve and to many, a little shit. He wants Periss to understand that he can’t be so immature when anything bad can happen at any moment, especially at this point in time when a war has just begun. Maybe they fight, come to a mutual understanding of one another and it goes from there.
Gurjin would be on the same page as Rian, but also concerned with how Periss acts toward the women of the group, particularly with Naia. Gurjin is already in protective brother mode with Amri pining for his sister, so Periss comes onto her, he’ll be there to — at the very least — threaten him. With his fist.
Now that we’re on the topic, Periss would be especially flirtatious with Brea, or try, and fail — but still try. He’d use all the sweet-talk he’s got but she’d have none of it. And once she reunites with Rek’yr and they start getting close, Periss will be all incel like Really?? She likes him and not me?? And would start an unwarranted competition for her affections
Rek’yr is mostly unfazed by this attitude since he knows Periss well enough through his brother Erimon, a fellow sand master. He along with everyone else would be trying to tell him dude, she’s just not into you but Periss is a stubborn ass and won’t listen until something happens that ultimately forces him to give up.
I don’t think Deet would interact with him much at all in her darkened state, I think he would be curious but keep his distance. In her normal state, Deet would be the only one showing him unconditional kindness because she’s Deet, and would help him understand why he acts out so much like he does. He would probably try to flirt some, but Rian and Hup would shut that down real fucking quick.
Speaking of Hup… Hup already has some distaste for Rek’yr and the Dousan in general, so he would have zero tolerance for Periss. Like absolutely none. I can picture Hup getting severely motion-sick on the sand skiff, and Periss being all like this Podling better not upchuck all over my skiff (which isn’t even his to begin with, mind you), and Hup would simply turn around, and get sick all over his feet, and everyone would be extremely grossed out but at the same time trying to hold back their laughter. Periss would not be happy.
In short, Periss would have to put in the work to earn everyone’s trust and liking of him.
