So Bucky and Reader are rivals, but not enems. When everything started and people started turning into zombies, they tried to come to an understanding and work together, but Reader was more of an reckless than Bucky, and they couldn't reach an agreement. (At least, that's my plan for now, work in progres...) They were both very vocal about what they wanted to do, so they became unspoken leaders, so they split into groups, or rather, each peoples chose sides. Slowly, they began to rivals to see who could kill more of zombies. They wanted something to distract themselves in this difficult situation, nothing better than a rivalry.
Zombies are very aggressive and fast, so one mistake and you can die, everyone has everyone's back.
Their competition with each other led to them starting to gain an audience, people would playfully choose who would win the day's round, etc. and then was broadcast live. There were, of course, other groups, like Bucky and Reader, but yours was more excited, people said that. It's because even though they were competing, they still had each other's backs, no matter how intense it was, the battlefield, or political maneuvering. Before this, Bucky and Reader was friends, and they still are, despite their differences.
They're trying to have fun with it all, but you know how it is. How it ends...
And now, unexpectedly, they've discovered how to stop everything that's happening. Of course, they've tried to make a plan, but it's the same problem as years ago. They can't agree on how to do it. And instead of working together, they're going their separate ways.
Bucky and Reader haven't been alone since the apocalypse and this is the first time they are… I won't spoil anything… Oh… there will be a lot of angst… and confess… They care about themselves... Someone will save someone... 🥲
