Sonic Mary-Sue Critique: Princess Elizabeth the Hedgehog
There’s no need for an introduction for this character, let’s just begin the critique!
Let’s take a look at what this character looks like:
The first thing that comes to mind is something along the lines of this: Is she a Shadouge (Shadow/Rouge) fan kid? The answer is no..She’s actually a Shadow the Hedgehog recolor. Don’t believe me?..Look up all the artwork for this character. Now, let us move on to what’s really important..HER PROFILE~!

Okay, let’s take a moment to stop right here for a moment. As you can see, I put Team Dark in bold text for a specific reason..For those of you who don’t know, within the Sonic the Hedgehog game series, the characters are listed by a specific type that relates to their abilities. In Team Dark, Shadow the Hedgehog is a Speed type, thus making him the leader of this team. Rouge the Bat is Flight and Omega the Robot is Power. Now, if Elizabeth was to be in this team, that would mean Shadow would have to be taken out..But here’s the thing, this character replaces Omega..
Why..Just why would you replace Omega and put in this sue? She isn’t a robot, she has no physical prowess nor is her species categorized as a power type. Hedgehogs, from what I’ve seen, have been labeled as Speed types, not including Silver since he’s listed as a Flight type. But we’re getting off topic..Elizabeth really has no reason to replace Omega, though the real reason as to why the creator did this is because she’s highly obsessed with the idea of her creation being best friends/partners with Rouge the Bat (literally, the obsession of this idea is quite scary..). But here’s the main question, why does she replace Omega? What happened to Omega that caused him to be replaced? This is a plot hole, a big one in fact. Unless you can prove that she’s a valuable asset to Team Dark, she’s going to be seen as just a fan girl of the team and not as a real member.
Dislikes: Eggman (some), Eclipse, Mephiles, Rouge flirting with Shadow, traitors to the crown, Scourge, Fiona Fox, Agent Topaz, SWATbots, Lyric the Snake, Black Doom, being lied to, seeing her friends wounded and/or killed.
Powers/Abilities:

Weaknesses/Flaws: Any shiny objects, handsome boys(in her age group), her short temper, her impatience. She wears out after a certain amount of time.
Handsome boys..Really? For those of you who don’t know much about this character, she’s been paired with most of the male characters from the Sonic series. Here is her list of lovers!: Shadow the Hedgehog, Silver the Hedgehog, Mephiles, Sadik the Hedgehog, Scourge the Hedgehog, Jack Lantern the Hedgehog, Sleet (Sonic Underground), and Kyle the Wolf...All at the same time...
Seriously, stop pairing your oc with every male who comes her way. It literally just makes it seem like she can’t keep her legs closed. This quality, a fan character having multiple boyfriends/love interest, is one of the most common traits that most mary-sue’s have. Let me make this VERY clear, this oc isn’t the most beautiful thing in the world, the cannon characters don’t want to get in there okay? She’s a whore at this point, nothing more, nothing less. It’s okay to have crushes and all, but when you pair her with multiple men at the same exact time, it just looks like she has her own personal male harem..It’s not cute, it’s trashy.
Backstory
She was born Elizabeth I in Eleweth, which was East of Mobius. During an unnamed war, Khalil saved 5 year old Elizabeth and 2 year old Lillian. Elizabeth and her baby sister were living with their grandparents in the countryside since Khalil was placed in a trauma therapy facility. At age 7, Elizabeth was lead into a false friendship by a 6-year old Fiona Fox, but Elizabeth was merely hurt by that when the truth came out. Elizabeth bit her in order to protect her little sister. Elizabeth ran home with her carrying Lillian, but Elizabeth was crying and told her grandfather that she bit Fiona due to Fiona tormenting Lillian. Elizabeth's grandmother was shocked when she heard about it, but her grandfather slightly argued that she was defending Lillian because her grandfather said she had the courage to do so. At age 17, Elizabeth and Lillian went back to their real home in Eleweth, in which shortly afterward, Elizabeth gave her throne to a now 14 year old Lillian. Lillian was a bit shocked at this, but she accepted it. When Elizabeth was on the castle balcony, she was placed in a real friendship with who we know as Rouge the Bat. Elizabeth wanted to become a treasure hunter and a spy as well, but when Elizabeth was taken to G.U.N HQ, Elizabeth started to have a very big rivalry with Agent Topaz. Rouge went to the Commander and asked that Elizabeth get Topaz's place as a secret agent, but after talking with the Commander, Elizabeth was covered in scratches. Rouge yelled at Topaz for harming Elizabeth and as the result, Topaz got fired from her job, but when Topaz was walking home, she had gotten abducted and killed. Elizabeth was welcomed into Team Dark by Shadow the Hedgehog and E123-Omega, after being hired. When on a mission with Rouge the Bat to retrieve the Scepter of Darkness, she and Rouge were held hostage near Eggman's base in White Acropolis. Shadow had gotten them out of there, only to get hugged by Elizabeth, along with a kiss on the forehead from her as well. When they arrived at Kingdom Valley, Eggman wanted the Scepter back, but in the process Elizabeth was hit in midair, only for Shadow to catch her yet not the Scepter. Upon Mephiles' resurrection, she became a victim of Mephiles' lust for her. She was returned safely to Shadow by Silver the Hedgehog, before the boss fight. Elizabeth was very scared of what could happen if Mephiles destroyed time and space as they know it. Elizabeth was held hostage by Mephiles at the second bossfight but was saved by Shadow. After some missions after that, Elizabeth fell head over heels for musician Shikao the Hedgehog. She wanted to earn his trust, but Fiona was after him too. After a brief catfight, Elizabeth shoots Fiona in the heart for betraying the Freedom Fighters, and stabbed Fiona for luring her into a false friendship. Amazed by what she has done, Shikao claimed to Elizabeth that she saved his life.
WHAT THE FUCK IS WITH THIS BITCH AND HER DESIRE TO KILL OFF CHARACTERS!?
For those who don’t know anything about the creator of this abomination, she’s not a big fan of Agent Topaz from Sonic X or Fiona Fox from the Sonic Archie comics. But, before I get into that..Let’s start at the beginning of this backstory.
Another basic mary-sue move is the fact that the sue’s creation starts off with such a tragic past (insert crocodile tears here please). There’s no reason as to why this war started, nor is there history of this so called kingdom she’s from. Starting off with a tragic past isn’t making her likable my dear.
She was friend’s with Fiona Fox...Yet there’s no reason as to how they became friends or any reason as to why their friendship ended..Plot holes, so many plot holes. Why in God’s green earth would Fiona Fox torment this sue’s little sister? What reason is there? All your doing is making it seem like Fiona Fox is a bad guy, which in my opinion she really isn’t. Unless you give a reason for Fiona being cruel/two faced, then there’s no reason as to why people should feel empathy for this character or her sibling.
Just as I mentioned the same thing with Fiona Fox, why the fuck is Agent Topaz given a rivalry with Elizabeth? You do realize there’s no need for that, Agent Topaz is ALREADY Rouge’s partner..But once again, the creator of this thing has a weird obsession with Rouge, it’s so bad that she literally wishes death upon Topaz in numerous ways (no joke, look it up on youtube).
Mephiles lusting after this whore...What? Okay, no..Just NO. Mephiles isn’t a he, she, or it. Mephiles is something entirely different than what would be considered a mobian, human, so on. Mephiles has NO desire to sleep with this character, or anyone for that matter. Actually play the gamecube game where “he’s” introduced as the main villain, “he” isn’t a touchy-feely character..If anything, “he’d” just use this character and destroy her once “he” has no use for her.
Over all, this so called fan character needs work..a LOT of work before even being considered a legitimate and solid character. Stop with the multiple love interest, stop with the tragic backstory, fill in the plot holes, and for fucks sake, actually come up with a unique design that’s not based on being a recolor of Shadow with the personality of Rouge..This doesn’t make her “original”, it just makes her a MARY-SUE!
