It took about twenty minutes for me to abandon my convictions and sign up for Erised, and it has been a wild six months since then.
I took one look at the darker end of @oknowkiss's wants list and said infidelity and open endings? Bet. Let's throw in some statuary metaphor and a blindingly opaque Draco along the way. Let's make people hate it, and him, and let it hurt.
I did not think people were going to like this fic, and boy was I right (there is a whole separate essay here about how freeing that experience was).
