gosh I remember this christianity craziness happening last year too, I'm so sorry. I may not be religious but that doesn't mean I'm going to judge you or get upset that you are? especially on your own blog? you have the right to express yourself and your beliefs.

Yeah, I remember being quite upset last year but I feel like I’m handling it better this year. I’m not angry or anything about people leaving, but I am frustrated by the reason.

I’d get it if I suddenly started preaching about the Bible and stuff, but that’s never gonna happen ‘cause that’d be annoying as hell. Maybe once or twice a year (Easter and Christmas) I’ll post a gifset or something, but that’s about it.

Gonna answer some replies that I got, just to put everything into one post, ‘cause a) I don’t want to spam you guys and b) I don’t want this to become a whole thing, so I’ll leave it after this post (that is to say, I won’t be replying to anything about this after this post, but I really appreciate all of your support).

Haha yeah, I really wasn’t pushing it at all. I just posted a gifset from the mini-series Jesus Of Nazareth sort of to say “This is why I celebrate Easter” and then continued with my regular blogging.

Well, we do that when the characters were gay or gay coded to begin with. You don’t see it, but ace people, especially cishet ace people and het ace people, invade LGBT spaces for their own all the time. That’s what this is about.

The wording is a bit wrong, I know what you mean. “Just ace” isn’t supposed to come off like ace people are “gay lite” like you said, we mean like ace but not like gay and ace or an ace lesbian, you know?

A lot of people are saying that he’s gay and not ace because, again, since the 40s, he was gay coded and supposed to be gay, until that ONE canon made him ace. The dude did it so he could get brownie points for bieng progressive but didn’t have to deal with same gender atraction. For god’s sake, Jughead speaks about how terrible it is that Kevin is too sex-driven to see the world like he does or some shit, and it’s realy homophobic.

A lot of ace stuff is just invading, erasing, and taking away from gay people and lesbians. A lot of the rhetoric is just homophobic, and often demonizes having sex and having sexual attraction. That hurts the gay community who has been demonized, punished, and MURDERED for being gay and because the world is so concerned with our sexual activities BECAUSE we’re gay. (Not to mention that this also hurts people with mental illness who may be hypersexual, and also hurting survivors of sexual violence.)

So, yeah, a lot of people are saying that Jughead can’t be ace and gay, only that he can be gay. Not in a “being ace is inferior” way, because it’s not, but in a “The ace community continues to invade and harm the gay community, then not recognize and apologize for the damage they’ve done, so we don’t want them to have this” kind of way.

Another reason someone might say “just ace” is becaue being ace is a modifier. So is being aro. It modifies when/how, not tells who. If you don’t experience attractiont to anyone, then you don’t experience atraction, period. It’s also because sexuality isn’t just abuout sex, it’s just general atraction, with the way language and stuff works nowadays.

So, I’m not “just ace,” I’m an ace lesbian. I’m not “just a lesbian,” I’m an ace lesbian. Do you know what I mean?
