Hi, do you know what are the genders between "nothing" and male ? I temporary ID as a trans guy but i don't feel fully boy, the other part is nothing (at least what i'm sure about is that i'm not a female) i'm not fluid or flux, a friend told me i could be bigender but idk, i feel between 2 genders, not 2 genders at the same time/switching between them :/ if you can't help me i understand ^^
Of course we can help! I actually feel very similarly about my gender :0c there are 3 I can think of off the top of my head:
Demiboy- Identifying partly, but not entirely as male.
Boyprox- An identity that exists “near to” male; a Boyprox person might feel a connection to boyness and/or boyhood, even if they do not strictly feel “male”.
Offboy- A gender that is closely/best represented by being male, but is not male.
If you’re having trouble understanding these or how they’re different, I’ll make up a little metaphor for you!
Imagine a boy is sitting on his bed, he identifies as binary-male. All of his limbs are on his bed, and he is very comfortable! His friend, a Demiboy, walks in and sits down next to him, but lets his legs hang off the edge. He too, is comfortable! Next in comes their Boyprox and Offboy friends! The Boyprox friend decides to sit on the ground next to the bed, leaning against it and the Offboy friend chooses to lie in a hammock hanging in the room. Both of them are happy and comfortable with where they sat down!
Now in this metaphor, the bed represents how “male” a person identifies. The binary-male feels he is 100% male, so he is happy to lie entirely on his bed. The Demiboy sits on the bed, but lets his legs hang off the side because while he feel partly male, he is not entirely male. The Boyprox person is leaning against the bed because they associate themselves with masculinity and the male experience, but may not consider themselves male! The Offboy lies in the hammock because hammocks are almost beds, but not quite. You can lay down and sleep in both beds and hammocks, so they are very similar but they are still not the same thing! Just like an Offboy feels similarly to how binary- or nonbinary- boys feel, but still not exactly the same!
And all the Boys* are happy and comfortable where they are, which is what’s most important :)
I hope this helps and my metaphor wasn’t too silly!
