the cake i made in honour of percy's birthday

it's chocolate cake with vanilla icing (dyed blue) and i attempted to use different shades of blue and make the frosting look like waves, though i'm not sure if i succeeded

it's delicious either way

1. If you could be for one day a fictional character? Who is it?

This is hard... I think I'd have to go with Gwen from Ruby Red, because she has the power to travel into the past and for me that would be so amazing. 

2. Favourite food?

Wow this is hard too! So many foods that I love... 

But it's probably either pizza, pirogues or bacon.

3. Favourite book quote?

It would have to be "One must always be careful of books, and what is inside them, for words have the power to change us." from Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. 

I just think this is very true and I can't think of any better ones at the moment.

4. Favourite movie? (non-adaptation book) 

Ok this is really hard because most of my favourite movies are based from books.

I really enjoyed Corpse Bride, that's not a book, is it? Ummm maybe Inception? I really can't think of anything else that I loved that wasn't based on a book, sorry!

5. Who's your celeb crush? 

Definitely Daniel Sharman or Dylan O'brien. I can't just choose one, they're both just so asdfghjkl.

6. Put your music player on shuffle and give me the first song!

7. If you could call you other than your name, what would it be and why?

I honestly don't have a nickname, really. But my mom calls me O. (since my name starts with an O)

8. What's your biggest fear?

Basically anything with stingers. Or getting some sort of fatal disease and dying from that.

9. The last fictional character who made you cry?

I think it was Liam at the end of The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. That ending killed me. Or maybe Leo Valdez from the Heroes of Olympus series because he is just so perf.

10. Favourite cartoon when you were a child?

I think this would have to be Spongebob Squarepants or Recess. I used to love those so so much :D

1. What is the earliest book you remember reading?

Well, that would probably have to be Go Dogs, GO! by Dr. Suess.  I am pretty sure that is the first book I read. It was one of my favorites growing up that's for sure!! 

2. Do you have an odd habit you do while you read?

Not really that I know of? I mean, if I read in bed, I always have to be on my stomach and my feet always swing back and forth.

3. Do you keep books in pristine condition or make notes, highlight, and love them in general?

If I can help it, I NEVER mark or highlight anything in my books.  To me they are my babies and they need to be cherished and protected.  However, I can't stop the pages or cover from being bent or just well worn and read multiple times.

4. What is one obscure author you wish was more famous?

Samantha Young! Well, I'm not entirely sure if she's obscure or not but I haven't seen any of her books in stores and they were all like two dollars on Kindle, so I'm assuming. I have read probably seven or eight of her books and they are all amazing!

5. Name one book you wish you could keep all to yourself.

Is this supposed to be like what is my favorite book?  Well if that's the case, I STILL DON'T KNOW!! I have so many that I loved and still love so ugh, this is hard!

6. Name one series you wish had continued.

Well, I could say the obvious one that everyone wishes had continued, Harry Potter, but other than that, um probably the Cirque du Freak series by Darren Shan.  The ending of that series just made me so mad, like idek how to explain how mad it made me and I feel like he just rushed them at the end.

7. Name one series you wish had ended after a certain book.

I have a couple that I wish had ended after a certain book.  One is The Immortals series by Alyson Noel.  It should have ended after the second book, because I feel after that it was always the same story and the main character kept making the same mistakes EVERYTIME! Also, The Uglies series, by Scott Westerfield should have ended after Extras.  I just felt that Specials was kind of like a spin off without actually being a spin off, if that makes sense? I mean the main character wasn't even the same!

8. Do you prefer to buy books or check them out at the library?

I ALWAYS PREFER TO BUY BOOKS!!!  I love just watching my shelf fill up with amazing books and amazing authors and telling my friends, "oh you don't have to wait to get it at the library you can just borrow it from me!"  Plus if I get them from the library I will most likely end up just buying it down the road, especially if it's a good book, because I like having them on hand so that I can just pick them up anytime I may want to.

9. What do you consider a classic, and which are your favorites?

To me a classic is the authors and books they teach in school.  Like, Jane Austin, Charlotte Bronte, Shakespeare, and the like.  I think my favorite would have to either be To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee or Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.  They're both just really good books with amazing messages.

10. Do you talk about the books you're reading with your friends and family?

Umm, well most of my friends don't really read.  I am "the book nerd" pretty much in my group of friends.  However, if the book is really good and I know they like reading at least a little bit or if they are looking for something to read I will recommend some of my favorites to them.

You should!! THE SHOW IS REALLY GOOD AND FUNNY!! However, there are some sexually explicit scenes in the show.
