“It won’t survive me.”

so the air did carry an unusual presence; one that she couldn’t particularly put forth her judgement. but the day was all enamored in good fun and hearty jokes! so much that she was in a peculiar mood. may it be the pollen in the breeze (is it not springtime?), or the leisurely weather that fluctuated between hot and cold. so much time, yet, only a fool would waste their energy yelling at the sun for how warm it came to be. singlehandedly, she thinks of the optimism of herself. it’s under the silly assumption that she believes people are just as lively as she is. megumi stands beneath a towering, half-bent tree. she presses her lips together as the young woman before her retaliatesー and she says so in under one breath. impressive. “oh, halloween,” megumi repeats. she’s been standing wordlessly, finally been given a chance to muster up a smile. “you’re right! and i was able to celebrate under a different name to get into character, of course.”
liven up the atmosphere a little bit! the last thing in the back of her consciousness regarded anything but identity theft. what sort of staged misappropriation would she be able demonstrate? the mere idea was almost laughable, had she not been known for her untimely mischief. “you’re irritated,” she says. and the sky is blue, capitalism is a product of personal indulgence, civil issues aren’t to be solved for when intruding on international affairs is far more intriguing. how she dreaded an overstatement that was clearly obvious. might she even feel unpredictable. at this rate, her intentions have gone as clear as mud. a comedian can only go so far. she waits as a blaring vehicle zips across the street, her response being inaudible with the sirens.
“my name’s megumi.”
plain and simple. short and prompt. meaningless was it to validate herself any further.
“this time, i kid you not! or, do you think that you're gonna need a copy of my birth certificate?” she grins.
