I have his physical description for all the rookies in this post, but for Young specifically his name to me is Liam. He’s Korean-Canadian, freckles and shoulder length hair. He’s called ‘the next Shane Hollander’ which honestly has more to do with him being Asian and not really his hockey and it defiantly does a number to his confidence since he grew up idolizing Shane and is now only being seen next to him because of the colour of his skin, despite them being on a line together and having great scoring numbers
More about his appearance though, he was born with a cleft lip so he still has a slight scar from that surgery. He’s really insecure about it but Luca LOVES to kiss it. He’ll kiss his forehead, tip of his nose where his freckles are the most predominant, each cheek, then the scar right above his lips THEN on the lips. It’s a whole thing that always makes Young giggle and smile and it’s Luca’s lil way of pulling him out of his head
Generally in their relationship it’s Young helping Luca and ‘taking care of him’, but Young does struggle with not necessarily jealously, but a sense of inferiority playing on the same line as Luca and Shane. Shane who he’s only seen comparable to with his ethnicity and Luca is always seen as the better player of the two. Reporters will always ask questions about Luca instead of himself, like “How does it feel to play on the same line as such an amazing player” whenever they’re on the same line and “What can you say about Luca’s two goals” when Young got the assists, but the focus is always Luca. It defiantly created some tension in their relationship towards the start, but after they learn to talk about their feelings instead of bottling them up Luca loves to take care of Young and remind him that he is his own star, he doesn’t owe anyone any of his talent and he’s so happy to play the game he loves together, and yeah it’s all sorts of sappy
They do daily affirmations together after Young’s first breakdown with all this. Ya’ll know that like self care pet app Finch? Yeah they got that. They are best friends on it and Luca loves to send Young daily affirmations and little gifts for his bird and they both have a streak of like 200 days where they send eachother sweet sentiments

On the opposite side, their love language with eachother is teasing eachother and Young is a professional rage baiter, so more often then not the team sees them tackling eachother and chirping eachother than actually being a couple, until the chirping turns into foreplay. They’re very much a mini version of Hollanov in this sense
Chronic clothes thieves, nothing is sacred. More often then not Young is in Luca’s hoodies ‘cause they smell like him’ and he wears it like a fucking safety blanket
Luca LOVES playing with Young’s hair. It’s long enough he needs to tie it back before games, so Luca having grown up with a ton of sisters, always braids it for him
Young also knows how to braid hair, because he has a twin sister, but shhhh he loves Luca dotting on him so he pretends to be dumb about it even though Luca also knows he’s being dumb about it
Ok so like in my streamer au, Young and Luca accidentally hard launch via their stream. After they get their streaming privileges back (it takes some begging and a lot of coffees to Harris), they will always be in eachothers’ streams. Like Young will be streaming Valorant and crashing tf out and Luca’s just lying on his bed like ‘what do you want for dinner’ and Young will turn and sweetly say ‘anything you want is good with me’ and then go back to yelling at the stream. His chat is always giving him shit for how whipped he is and Luca ends up drawing him a ‘simp’ emote that the chat loves
In turn when Luca does do a rare solo stream Young will like fall asleep with his head in Luca’s lap cause his desk is right next to his bed so he just like lies across, and Luca jokes he’s a cat
Luca gets Young into skincare after he realizes Young washes his face with bar soap, and in turn Young wanted to learn how to do makeup so now they do their makeup together before they go out and it’s really cute (Young is an eyeliner diva)
Young isn’t the best cook, but he always cooks the meat cause Luca makes it as dry as a fucking desert. Especially chicken, he’s not allowed to cook chicken anymore after Holmberg almost chocked on it cause it was so dry
Young consumes an ungodly amount of caffeine. I’m talking two red bulls a day and dry scooping pre-workout, no one knows how his heart is still working ok
There’s one time Young is going through a horrific slump and so he starts eating the most random shit, like would make pregnancy cravings look normal. One day he made a ‘not even hell can understand this’ soup, which consists of blueberries, reeses pieces, protein powder, spinach and banana milk all mixed together, sometimes with tuna on the side of he wants extra protein. He proceeded to get his first career hat trick after this, so this becomes a regular thing, much to the dismay of his teammates
The two of them always take little trinkets from places and put them in a memory box they have together. They have a book filled with polaroids of like places they’ve been, receipts of restaurants they went to and review, tickets from their concerts, coasters and notepads they stole from hotels, a doll that Luca is 97% sure is haunted that Young got from a fan, etc.
Anytime Luca and Young play a horror game together/watch a horror movie Luca is burying himself into Young’s side and crying over the ‘scary monsters’ (it’s a shadow). Compare this to Young who is predicting who the killers will be and saying all the jumpscares before they happened and annoys everyone in the room. Only for horror movies though, he still sucks with horror games
They have a sweet little grey fluff ball cat that has the mentality of an orange cat, if that makes sense. She like snuck into their apartment one day, (they still do not know how), and then just like never left. Her name is Gravy, named by Young. And no, no one knows the context of that one, not even Young himself.
Young spoils tf out of that cat, she’s very cuddly and has genuinely a half room in their apartment for herself. Luca’s art room/Young’s streaming room gets shuffled around so there’s a whole like cat jungle gym, climbing wall, three different scratching posts and any toy you could ever want set up on one wall. Gravy becomes famous on the twitch channels since Young’s face cam shows that wall and so many times you just see a cat leap across the back
They do matching couples Halloween costumes, and yes this does include Gravy as their child. Young claims he birthed her, and Luca has to remind him that’s not how that works, even if he claims the same thing
