Erranil of the Summerset Isles, the Dragonborn.
This is my first Dragonborn, Erranil. I worked on this portrait a few months ago, trying out a more painterly style but never really got around to finishing the whole piece. I quite liked how it turned out, but it took forever to figure out the hair and face, and it ended up as one of my many WIPs that dwell in the limbo of my unfinished folder! Nonetheless, I thought I’d post it because I probably won’t work on it again anytime soon.
I love the unique features of TES elves and I tried to capture the ‘otherness’ of the Altmer in this portrait of Erranil. I enjoy depictions of elves and elf-adjacent races in media where they are more unique and have distinguishing characteristics that make them stand out as more than just humans with pointy ears. The Mer races are visually very distinct from the races of man, and each other in TES. I really just enjoy the strange, sharp and sour faces of the Altmer, even if they are lowkey (highkey!) evil.
