They're both "forgetful", but in different ways.

Critter is traditionally forgetful. They have a very short attention span and tend to get distracted by small things. They're likely to forget what they were told five minutes ago and repeat stories over and over again. Jacknife is forgetful by means of impulse. He lives his life mostly in pursuit of short-term satisfaction, and this means that a lot of his forgetfulness comes from nights of blackout drunkenness and extreme fixation on an immediate (usually criminal) goal.

Oddly enough, their different breeds of forgetfulness tend to even each other out. Critter remembers exactly what Jacknife did to earn that broken arm the night before, and Jacknife lives for those dumb happy chirps that Critter makes when he returns a random trinket of theirs that they lost for the hundredth time.

Every attempt at stealth by Jacknife always gets a laugh out of me tbh. Whether it's successful or not doesn't matter, Critter can see through it anyways because of their heightened sense of smell, and oh man do they try their hardest not to lose their shit. Seeing your nasty white trash bf disguising himself as a baby by ripping his clothes off and slapping on a bonnet is a special kind of comedy.

Rabbit:

Jacknife is societally lazy. Getting an actual job?? Getting out of bed before noon??? 90% of personal hygiene????? Out of the question. However, he does get a decent workout in his perpetual game of cat and mouse with Superjail, and if he wants something, he will absolutely go to ridiculous lengths to get it.

Critter, on the other hand, is a blob by their species's standards. They're supposed to be taking over the entire planet with a plague of horrific insects, but they'd really rather just crash in a prison outside of reality and fuck with the humans there. They're rather comfortable in Superjail and see no reason to leave the hellhole, so they tend to balance Jacknife out a bit, delaying his inevitable escapes in favor of a bit more time with the bug.

Bear:

Only when he's piss drunk tbh. There's a part of him deep down that wants to be cuddly but??? No way in hell that's gonna ever be a conscious behavior. Critter has figured out a trick though. If you get close enough to him while he's asleep, he'll eventually toss and turn to the point where he'll grab hold of you in his sleep. Refuses to acknowledge this when he wakes up, but it's a good cuddle in the moment.

Ant:

Escaping!!! Jacknife is a master escape artist despite how primal and unintelligent he might seem. No matter what sort of hell Superjail throws at him, he always finds a way to get out alive!!! Granted he gets recaptured fairly soon after because he's not too great at being a law-abiding citizen, but he can still just keep escaping forever!!!
