no no no but you don't understand this
On the Lewis and Clark Expedition, when Sacagawea and her husband were heading back home once being told Hidatsa land was about to be approached, Clark tried to reason with them to let them stay. And you know what else he did?
CLARK WANTED TO ADOPT SACAGAWEA’S SON, JEAN.
He cared for him, he loved him to pieces, when he was born he took an immediate liking towards him. He gave him the nickname Pomp when he was born (plus he gave the nickname ‘Janey’ to Sacagawea which I think was also cute). THEY HAD A BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP!!!!!!! In one article (out there), Sacagawea and Clark grew a deep connection (as well as with Lewis), but Sacagawea had actual romantic feelings towards Clark on the entire journey.
HE WOULD'VE BEEN A GREAT FATHER
HE WOULD'VE BEEN A GREAT HUSBAND
HE COULD’VE AND SHOULD’VE MARRIED SACAGAWEA MY GOD ITS ADORABLE
Y’all probably wondering “why didn't he though?”.
that was because she was married to someone else at the time (and he was a prick), and the only reason why she was married to him was because when she was young she was kidnapped by Hidatsa warriors, and either bought or gambled away to this asshole along with some other girl, to both marry him. At 16, she found out she was pregnant and two months before the expedition, she gave birth to her first son.
JUST IM SO PISSED OVER ACTUAL PEOPLE IN HISTORY NOT GETTING TOGETHER AND STARTING A BEAUTIFUL LIFE
