What's your stance on the outfit Aizawa chose for Eri? I adore it, personally, which was only intensified when it turned out to be green but from what I've seen it's coloring seems to have ruined it for a lot of people.

aizawa has terrible fashion taste but i love him. he knows what he likes. he has a clear vision. it may not be hot but you have to admire him

I just really want someone to pledge $500 to your patreon because it says you will give them your firstborn and, unlike the $1000 hiding a body pledge reward, there is no asterisk to state otherwise. I just want to know what will happen. I don't have to money for it but I'm so curious.

*snort* the day, if and when someone picks it, you’ll all hear about it cause I actually have a plan in place for that one. Might take a few years, but I have a plan on how to honor it.

I love your fics so much. I want to be at least a little grumpy about the fact you've somehow single-handedly gotten me to ship Tony and William Sugar the Cuddly Murdercat but I honestly can't seem to manage it. Which, to be fair, I AM able to be grumpy about XD -- Anyway. Uh. Just wanted to tell you that, uh. I'm love your boys too much for my own good and I hope your life is going fantastic. :)

How do you decide on the layout of your panels for comics? Like, it all looks so smooth and natural as you transition from one panel to another??? You convey everything so clearly???

Thank you!! That’s something I’ve been working on improving on in the last few comics :) And honestly I’ve been watching a lot of film editing videos as I work and have been trying to apply those concepts to the way I storyboard them out so they look more ~cinematic~, since this is based on a movie.

More under the cut about process because it ended up more longwinded than I meant for!

I start by writing a really general script with general ‘stage directions’: 

Then I sketch it out and play with different angles (I was originally gonna have Georgie moodily throwing rocks into the river but it didn’t add anything to the comic so I cut it)

As for transition, what I’ve learned recently that I think makes the most difference is making sure shots are “connected” either through dialogue or action so the viewer can see how they relate to each other when you change angles or zoom: 

Also making sure ‘shots’ multitask too! Like in the first example, it shows Bowers and Co.’s reaction (screaming and running), as well as advancing the action of the previous panel (being chased by a fuck ton of leggies) and foreshadowing the action of the following panel (Bowers getting grabbed by a leggy)In the second one, Georgie is multitasking by advancing the dialogue as well as physically moving/contradicting what he’s saying by backing away. The second panel emphasizes that he’s being cornered while still continuing the dialogue (that oooh could easily be cut as it doesn’t add anything to the conversation or define character at all, but it connects the close up of Georgie’s foot to the next panel) and the last panel shows the bullies advancing on Georgie and finishing that dialogue.

i’m... existing!!! i’ve been consumed by finals, along with a pretty important group project for one of my art classes which I’ve been putting crazy stupid amounts of work into (particularly since one of my group mates is... super unreliable which has made some things Difficult and I am now working until the last minute which I’d hoped to not be doing.)

It’s a cool project though; it’s a set of tarot cards based on typography along with a book that accompanies it. I’ll upload pictures once it’s done!

Well, uh, idk how relevant it is to anyone but it isn't vore so...Have you seen the trailer for A Wrinkle in Time? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

i was actually really scared when i saw the inbox notification, so this was a very pleasant surprise.

I was in the movie theater about to watch Coco when a very strange trailer for a movie came on. It was filled with lush imagery, compelling cinematography, adorable looking actors, and a really interesting seeming plot, and I was just squinting at it thinking, wow this is cool, what the heck is it for? some new sci-fi movie? until the shot where we heard the sound of basketballs being rhythmically dribbled in perfect sync, and the camera approaches a circle of perfectly identical yellow houses, and I looked at my mother, and she looked at me, and we both thought exactly the same thing.

“oh my god, it’s a wrinkle in time.”

So yeah, I’m pretty freakin’ hyped for a movie that can - in a single, amazingly iconic scene - portray a location from a book I haven’t read in 10 years so perfectly and so vivdly that not only do I get it in an immediate, chilling snap of realization, but the person sitting next to me did too. Like, it was just - the memory came immediately, I didn’t have to think at all. I didn’t even know they were making a Wrinkle in Time movie. It just felt like I was seeing something familiar, y’know? like they’d managed to film exactly what was in my head when I was reading one of my favorite books as a kid.

It might end up being a perfect movie, but man, I won’t forget that moment for awhile.
