It’s pretty certain that this isn’t true, but the fact that it’s out there and believable is just

I also doubt it’s true, mostly because it would retcon so much and really screw up the original trio. Not to mention completely disregard Leia and prop up Han.

But it is sad that I can’t say “lol, that’s not true. They’d never do that.” because as uhh...I think they would do that. Lucasfilm has made really bad calls before.

Though well Chanukah is really an aggresive form of selflove. The whole foundation of it is that some douchbags conquered our land and tried to force us to stop being Jewish and practice our religion and culture, so we rose up and killed them.

When the temple was rededicated the first thing done was to light the menorah, but though there was only oil enough for one day the lights miraculously burned for eight. Which is why Chanukah - which incidentally means dedication in Hebrew - lasts for eight nights and we candles.

So while all Jewish holidays have an element of antiassimilation, Chanukah is the antiassimilation holiday and really an aggresive act of selflove. In fact, this also why we at least here in the west tend to make such a big deal out of it inspite it being a minor holiday, because of the time of year it falls on. It isn’t Jewish Xmas, it’s antiXmas if it’s anything, which is why Jewish people gets so pissed when it is called that.

But frankly, I think we could both do with some aggresive selflove and a fuck you to oppresive and violent authorities the way the world is right now, so I’m definitely down for this.
