GOOD OLD TIMES || MANS ZELMERLÖW, PETRA MEDE
Hiding their feelings for one another was something they had both become experts at. No one was to know how they felt about the other, especially the other.
“One more time!” The choreographer yelled loudly, his voice echoing through the dancing studio.
Both Mans and Petra had had enough of it, but walked back to their starting positions nonetheless. If they wanted this Eurovision edition to be a succes, they had to work hard for it.
The music had started and they were supposed to be moving with it, but Mans stood quietly. He seemed oblivious to what was going on around him, caught up in his own world. Petra looked at him, trying to figure out what was going on his mind.
Little did she know, that it was her he was thinking about.
Lately, she was all he could think about.
The fact that they were spending almost every minute together to prepare for the show, wasn’t helping him much.
Petra waved her hand in front of his face, effectively shaking him out of his trans. The choreographer was still yelling on and on at them to take this seriously and not fool around, but they were focused on each other.
He smiled at her and took her hand, sending electric shocks all over her body. He pulled her with him out of the dance studio and into his own changing room, ignoring every protest coming from the choreographer.
“I was pretty done with it anyway.” He told her, grabbing a towel and a bottle of water.
He offered her the other bottle of water.
“You know,” He starts, “I never thought we would be standing here. Grounds of Sweden, presenting the Eurovision Song Contest.”
“I never thought I would win it.” He confessed.
“Well, I did.” She said, “I knew after Melfest 2009.”
“I didn’t even win that year.”
“Yeah, so? You didn’t need to win for me to see how much potential you have. Maybe, 2009 wasn’t your year, but 2015 sure as hell was.”
That seemed to lift his mood.
“I did get to kiss you that year, so maybe it wasn’t that bad after all.” He said, before realising what it was that he actually said.
His eyes grew wide, staring at her in shock. “I- I didn’t- I didn’t mean..”
Suddenly, the expression on her face changed from shock to amusement. “Sure you didn’t.”
He quickly caught on to her joking manner, and felt embarrassment fade away.
“You know what? Fuck it. I’ve been meaning to tell you this for so long I’m just going to do it now. But you promise me first, don’t freak out on me, okay?”
“Yeah, okay.” She said and nodded her head.
“So, I kinda like you. No, scrath that. I kinda like you a lot.”
It was silent for a few moments, giving her time to process what that meant.
“I kinda like you a lot, too.”
