Little Daylight sind derzeit das Blogwunder. Mit ihrem Debutsong Overdose sind sie mit strammen Schritten die Hypemachine-Charts nach oben gewandert und regieren jetzt vom Podium herab!
Dabei gibt es die Band schon seit längerem. Sie haben in der Remixecke festgehangen und dort Mischen für Edwarde Sharpe, Passion Pit oder Niki and the Dove gefertigt.
Ihr Sound zu Overdose wird häufig mit Esoteric Pop verglichen und mit Namen wie Haim gleichgestellt. Was dieses Esoterik-Getue sein soll weiß ich auch nicht aber ist ja auch Wurst, der Song ist gut!

Overdose is some wonderful, cheerful, upbeat pop from new Brooklyn bliss pop act Little Daylight. They've offered up some great remixes of other synthpop tracks by the likes of Passion Pit and Penguin Prison, but with this single, they've proven they've got the goods to make a mark with their own original music. There's some Swedish electropop flavor to their sound not unlike that of buzzing duo Icona Pop. The lead vocals resemble that of Emily Haines' (of Metric) in the lower registry. The song makes me want to dance in my seat. I'm loving it. I'm looking forward to hearing more original tracks by Little Daylight. A quick scan shows there's nothing else floating around yet.
