Dirty Projectors - “Little Bubble”
Didi points to where he was standing when the terrorists arrived the night of Nov. 13, when he was on duty as a security guard outside the Bataclan concert hall. The gunmen massacred 90 people that night, in a killing spree that lasted nearly two hours. They were “shooting when they arrived,” Didi says.
“There was nothing you could do,” he says. “I told myself, I’ve got to quickly get as many people out of there as possible because these terrorists have come to kill as many people as they can.”
Didi, 35, doesn’t want to give his last name for fear that someone involved in the attacks may try to find him.

Finally got around to posting about my trip to Cartagena on Wayfare Travels. Get at it.
2015: the year of feminism.
yes, thank you.
The city proper of Oaxaca is quaint. Surrounded by mountains and a beautiful Mexican landscape, it feels like you’re in the midst of city and nature all at once. The roads and buildings are old, yet well-maintained, so it’s super easy to get around and still feel like you’re connected. It is very much a bustling micro-metropolitan but with old-school Mexican charm.
Wayfare travel is about getting to wherever you may go, in the best way that suits you.
In an attempt to ease my way into publicizing this new venture, I’m so anxious to share Wayfare Travels, a new blog and travel design venture that I’m so excited about. It’s a place where I can share my experiences in travel, and help you find yours.

The wonderful Gavin Aung of Zen Pencils remembers Maya Angelou (April 4, 1928–May 28, 2014) with in a lovely comic adaptation of her iconic poem “Phenomenal Woman,” capturing its vast cultural ripples. Enjoy to the soundtrack of Angelou’s beautiful reading of the poem, then revisit the beloved author on freedom and her lesser-known children’s verses on courage, illustrated by Basquiat.
me, always.

reasons you need to watch I Love Lucy & Bekka:
a show with two female protagonists!
where both the protagonists are woc!!
and they have a genuinely close and worthwhile relationship!!!
it’s also created and written by a talented young black woman!!!!
WOW, it’s almost like it’s everything tumblr’s always talking about wanting!
it is seriously, genuinely funny
it’s really honest about friendship and female friendship in particular. the two talk frankly about sex. they have uncomfortable moments but are usually so believably comfortable around each other. in one episode, the proof of their friendship comes with sharing their food.
one of the stars is golden globe winner gina rodriguez, basically considered by everyone to be the best new star of the 2014-2015 tv season.
she’s otherwise known as the woman who gave the amazingly inspiring speech about trying to represent latina characters in the media.
the other star is kristolyn lloyd, who is equally funny and beautiful and talented in this!!
it has very few views right now — like around 100-200 views per episode. this is ridiculous!! we need to support media with women of color in leading positions. I don’t normally make posts like this, but I love this show, and I really want it to get wildly popular. Check it out!!
In Color.
