ESP LTD Viper-407 I've always a 7 string ever since I started listening to bands like Orgy, Korn, MUCC, and Girugamesh, but never convinced myself to get it until recently. Wasn't sure whether to get the Ibanez RG7 series or the viper. Found a pretty good deal on the viper, so I decided to get this instead. Kind of wish I got the Ibanez though -The Viper is pretty heavy in weight.

New Addition to the Family // Direngrey Cover

With the coming of a new single, also comes a new guitar. I drove up to Irvine today to pick up a new guitar. I couldn't pass this deal up as it was a total steal for me.

I picked up an ESP LTD Viper 7 String. here are the specs:

Alright - Perfect. Set Neck construction for great sustain and attack. Oh boy does this viper attack. The mahogany is what's common on a lot of 7 strings now a days I believe. It's quite heavy.. .The neck feels heavier than the body, so it tends to nose dive when I'm using it.. A bit of a set back.

I was also a bit worried about the Rosewood fingerboard and that it would feel too dry and crummy, but It feels just fine. The Rosewood is MUCH darker than expected, so dark that I thought it was ebony. Great!

The Neck is

FAT and WIDE. But it is thin, so it makes it very easy to play.

Everything else is great. It's loaded with hot EMG pick ups. I was a bit worried that it would be a bit too hot, and unclear with EMGs, but the tone is great. The attack is sharp as hell, and the neck pick up is warm and clear. Vibrant to the core, very cool.

Tuners are Grover tuners. Good stuff, very sturdy and top of the line tuners. Very happy

with that.

The finish is a Black SATIN, in other words, Flat Black. It's fucking awesome! I've always wanted a flat finish on a guitar. This beast looks so great, the inlays are beautiful mother of pearl, and it even has a binded neck and head stock.

Very happy with this purchase. Easily a guitar worth about $700, back in the day it was more, I believe. Got it for about 50% off, what a steal. These are Korean Made.

Oh yeah. .. I'm still waiting on a strap. -_- I'm in the process of ordering them from ESP Japan.

Dir en grey Cover

Just wanted to update all my followers/youtube suscribers on what I'm working on. I initially have both covers done, I am just waiting for the 26th so I avoid any sort of copyright law infringement.

Lotus Lotus is done. Well, technically they're both done. This one was not as simple as I thought it would be.. The effects were hard to mime here.. Especially the part after the first chorus. The guitar is set to a very low filter EQ, so it sounds like a telephone. The sound is also very bright, I will have to do some EQing on that part..

The part after the break down is also difficult to hear and depict the notes, but after a while I think I got it down.

Can't wait to upload to share with you guys. I hope you'll be pleased.

Obscure

Ok first off, this new version sounds fucking awesome. It's so god damn BRUTAL. One thing that annoyed me in the song (playing wise) is the harmonic in the heavy riffs. It's set really close to the bridge so it's hard for me to hit it 100% of the time... Maybe I'm playing it in the wrong place, or string.. we'll see.

This song is actually pretty boring to play, haha. But it sounds really great.

Can't wait to record this one for you guys as well. Stay tuned.
