So, I saw a post made by sixpenceee about different types of ESP, and it just reminded me of something that used to happen to me a couple of years ago...
See, I was living with my mother, and she was married to a guy who was a raging alcoholic/coke user. I was fourteen at the time. And he would always vanish sometime during the day and show up again, drunk or high off his head later in the evening. And he was a mean one.
Now, here's where the weirdness comes in. I would always go to bed, and fall asleep. I didn't have a bed time; I went to bed whenever I was tired or when I knew I couldn't stay up any later because I had school the next day. But the times I fell asleep would vary.
And then I would always wake up, abruptly, in a cold sweat. My heart would be pounding. I'd be wide awake, fully alert as if something had just screamed in my ear, or crashed in front of me. The first few times I was, naturally, confused. But later I figured out why this happened.
Every time I woke up like that...5 to 10 minutes later, HE would arrive home and start banging on the door to be let in. Every time. Not once or twice, literally every single time that I abruptly woke up like that, he would arrive in the 5-10 minute window.
As if I knew he was coming.
At first I thought it was just luck. But it kept happening. Then I thought, maybe I'd just gotten conditioned to expect it at a certain time? But I checked the time whenever I woke up, and there was no pattern. The times I fell asleep to the time I woke up was ever changing. There was no set time for me to be conditioned to expect him to arrive. And it was never when he arrived home, it was always at the least 5 minutes before, and no longer than 10.
This happened continuously while we lived with him in that house, and only stopped after I moved in with my dad and was no longer around it. It just stopped as abruptly as it had all started.
In the post by sixpenceee about types of ESP, there was one called Clairsentient, and it was the closest thing I could really think that matched what I experienced. I in no way think I am psychic at all, but I can't forget what happened and I've always wondered why and how. Like my body sensed him approaching and got into 'fight or flight' mode on its own. I don't know nearly enough about the human brain and body to try and come up with a scientific answer, so if anyone out there has a clue to offer, I'd love to hear it. Also, if anyone's experienced the same kind of thing, I'd love to hear it too...
