i’m going to put these headcanons under the cut, because turns out i have a lot more to say than i thought i would lol!
where to start..well, my headcanoned wedding date for them is december 15th, don’t remember how exactly i decided on it, but imagine a beautiful navidad wedding for them?? 🥺
also, their wedding would be a big deal. like, a big deal. assuming raúl’s sibling(s) didn’t get married after him, the last royal wedding avalor has seen was king raúl and queen lucía’s, which was, at the very least, 60 years ago! so royal fans young and old would be thrilled for the occasion. i picture it similarly to royal weddings we’ve seen in our lifetime, with people waiting possibly days for a spot to catch a glimpse of the couple, (it’s canon that this was done for elena’s coronation!) kids on their parents’ shoulders, waving little avaloran flags..time would stop in avalor that day!
now, in royal weddings i’ve seen, there are a lot of flower girls/page boys, but rarely any adult bridesmaids/groomsmen. i’m not positive how this would work in avalor, but i’ve had some ideas about the wedding party in the past! i’ve written their wedding twice lol, once in a scene for ship appreciation week (day 3 if you’re interested!) and once on wattpad (but we don’t talk about that one) , and in both, i’ve had isabel as her maid of honor. how could her sister not play the most important role in her special day? others that i’ve included in either one or both versions i’ve written were naomi, sofia, and amber, but elena has so many more important people in her life, so i’m sure it wouldn’t be limited to them if she were to have a larger wedding party! as for gabe, mateo would totally be his best man. and i’m sure a couple of his guard friends, such as rico, might be in his party too! and for who walks elena down the aisle? none other than her abuelo francisco, of course!
next for the most important part, what they’d wear! we’ll start off with gabe, i know this man never gets any new outfits, but he’d probably wear his guard uniform 😭. at many royal weddings i’ve seen the groom usually wears a military type/traditional outfit over a tux, so i’m sure gabe would be no different, especially given his position in the avaloran royal guard. and now, for elena! my headcanoned dress for elena is inspired by the 2010 holiday barbie, so you can take a look at that for a better idea of what i’m talking about! so basically, it’s a sleeveless dress with a straight across neckline, with red and gold embroidery on the bodice. the bottom of the dress i changed to be a bit more traditional. it’s not as much of a ball gown style as the barbie dress, the easiest way i can think of to describe it is the way kate middleton’s is lol. and of course, she has a gorgeous train trailing behind her, i’d say about 5-6 feet long! she wears her hair in her signature bun, with poinsettias replacing her usual flowers. she wears her crown princess tiara, along with some jewelry that was previously her mother’s. she wears a veil as well, that i’d say goes to about her waist, and carries a bouquet of poinsettias and apricot mallows. her bridesmaids are most likely wearing red, possibly with an accent of gold somewhere in there. if you haven’t guessed, the color scheme of the wedding is red and gold!
