Hi here’s some unsolicited advice
i see a lot of autistics talking about the constant profound rejection we receive by just being ourselves and don’t get me wrong that shit hurts it hurts bad.
but what i need to see more of is autistics using their social ineptitude as the irreplaceable asset it is. Weapon if you’re feeling mean enough.
and autistics have GOT to get meaner.
because here’s the thing. if you’re being dragged to a Social Function, say, your cousins or siblings inviting you out with them and their normie friends you’ve never met. you are being set up to fail. not intentionally, perhaps, but chances are you are going to be excluded. rejected. you know this. that’s why you dread it so much.
you gotta learn to be comfortable with people not liking you. and the best way to do that is by getting a sick thrill out of it.
you’re going to lose anyway! have fun with it. you have the power to embarrass your cousin/sibling in front of their horrible friends and ruin everyone’s night out. just by being yourself! your fear of using it is holding you back!! And trust me when i say those “who invited this freak?” looks you get that sting so bad usually will feel like a fucking drug when you did it on purpose.
NO, I’m not gonna sit quietly and awkwardly on the sidelines waiting to go home. i’m gonna say WEIRD shit LOUDER THAN NECESSARY and that rejection is just gonna slide off me as i fail, GLORIOUSLY, at being socially acceptable. because guess what. those people are gonna go home and tell their friends about The Weirdo At The Function. and they’re gonna laugh. ha. I WIN.
