The moment that Agent Jareau walked through those glass doors this morning, Spencer knew there’d been another victim. The seven members of the Behavioral Analysis Unit had each exchanged an anxious glance as they’d taken their seats around the dark wooden table; and J.J. places her files down, turning to the large screen mounted behind her. The body was found -- actress Brandi DeVilla, the beautiful young lady who they’d known to be stalked and kidnapped by their current unsub, had finally been killed. They were too late.
The graphic pictures of the crime scene were difficult to look at, as they always were. It never got any easier. They profiled the body as best as they could; discussing their unknown subject’s M.O. -- it hadn’t changed. Unfortunately, the more bodies that turned up, the more they knew about their killer; and just as the team was setting to break, a phone rings. it’s Hotch’s.
“ Wheels up in thirty. ”
There had been a difference at the last crime scene; a clue, if you will, to the unsub’s next target. As the team arrived, each of them ducking underneath the yellow tape stretched from tree to tree, the detective and crime scene unit had led the agents to their unusual finding. It was a fashion magazine -- set carefully atop of a bar stool in DeVilla’s house, page opened specifically. The markings of a red Sharpie had enclosed the face of another beautiful young lady.
