There was this Spanish book about princess Cristina of Norway, who married an Spanish prince and perished of melancholy, but I ultimately decided not to purchase it because, in the first pages, Cristina (who is the narrator of the book) single-handedly decided to describe queen Violant of Aragon (consort to Cristina’s brother in law Alfonso X of Castile) as some evil wench who gets pregnant to hold power on the court and has malicious “Magyar eyes” (Violant’s mother was an Hungarian princess), and acts as if she was not the child bride who was bedded at twelve by 27 y/o Alfonso systematically and blamed for her supposed infertile because she was so young she hadn’t had her first child until she was about seventeen, while Alfonso was getting under skirts of other women. So yes, she is an evil (HALF) Easter European woman who does not want Cristina to take her place (now that Violant has proven more than able to conceive) and fuck the king instead of her actual husband. JESUS.
