Below the cut is ramblings about stuff regarding my insert/sona for Pokémon SwSh, Legends Arceus, and @esprei 's Dystopian!AU

Sword/Shield

Champion Jay (held the title during ages 21-26, retired at 27 to become a disability rep for Galar's branch of the Pokémon League)

Team includes Altaria, Dubwool, Frosmoth, Sylveon, Corviknight, and Rapidash (Fire). This is the team they won with, and the team they do exhibition matches with.

Yes I ship with Leon. Look at that man and tell me he isn't kissable.

Legends Arceus (50 years after canon ending)

Rook, a scout/ranger in the Crown Tundra. Does observations and monitoring of the Dynamax Den in the Crown Tundra area of Galar, to keep the people of the greater region informed of/safe from any rogue Dynamaxing incidents.

Team includes Swablu, Aurorus, Snom, Vulpix, Dreepy, and Rookidee. They don't really battle, since they're more a ranger than a trainer. But they keep a full team regardless.

I situationship with Volo; he winds up on Galar's coast after leaving Hisui/Sinnoh to let the heat die down, and just ends up exploring the history and lore of various regions. Maybe understanding the various legends will bring him closer to understanding- and eventually subduing- Arceus.

He takes a ship to Galar, that winds up wrecking near the Tundra due to poor weather and icebergs. He abandons the surviving crew, figuring he can make it on his own. Rook finds him as a popsicle, drags him back to their place, basically brings him back to life, and lets him crash there during the winter. He winds up staying for three winters total, and leaves after the third because they were both catching feelings (which never works out well for an immortal trying to kill god.)

Dystopian!AU

Team includes Altaria, Corviknight, Frosmoth, Dubwool, Dragapult, and Ninetails.

They don't really have a name. We can't be sure if it's Jay, or Rook, or both, or neither. But whoever they are, they still do their best to keep their region safe by managing rogue Dynamax occurences and helping guide people to safe settlements after their homes are laid to ruin.

They eventually go to the alleged source of the Dynamax phenomenon, the cave nestled in the Crown Tundra, only to find it strangely empty ... Yet still somehow occupied. It would make sense if there were time-space shenanigans about: the Dynamax phenomenon is due to pokémon manipulating the space around them to change their size, after all. The source of Dynamaxing is supposed to be here, but it isn't ... Yet it is. Just in a time and place that they can't reach.

It's off, it's wrong, and it requires further probing. So why not go to the place where Time and Space were given form? For the sake of Galar, they travel to Sinnoh/Unova. If they can't find out where their region's Legendary pokémon has gone, then they'll take it up the chain of command, so to speak.

However far that needs to be.

Short fic under the cut, based off of the Dystopia au that's been gnawing on my brain like a squirrel gnawing on wires.

Haven't written for a while. I beg no pardon.

"It's different, isn't it? The sea. The sky. The sunrise. We're certainly far from Galar, aren't we?"

A soft breeze blows, one similar yet not the same. The sun rises, casting the sky in familiar hues, as salty waves ebb along the shore in a way that's merely reminiscent of the shores they know.

Swablu chirps beside them, the only thing that isn't changed. It helps put things into perspective a bit, and eases their homesickness.

Perhaps the sea isn't so different. Perhaps the sky is the same. Perhaps the shores are more alike than they give credit for.

Sinnova isn't Galar. But maybe if they watch the light dancing off the water for long enough, they can trick themself into finding a bit of comfort regardless.
