I have not done of these in a minute. But way less people are masks at my job. People (costumers and workers) are always coming in sick as shit. It’s also so fun /s when people are like “oh I’m quarantining right now but I got bored”. I’m going to screaming this to the end of the time. Because this shit is not going to get better because protecting people (including sick pay) hurts the economy or whatever capitalist drivel. And like in general I am fighting the cdc one day. And it’s funny because the cdc directed recently got covid and was out 18 days. And not even like tweeting/working at home to boost morale or whatever. Like radio silence for 18 days. But the rest of us at best get 5 fucking days. When people still test positive on day 6.

So my job for the first in forever will be closed on Thanksgiving. On the one hand, low bar shit, let they should already let us stay home already. But on the other I am happy not to be there because it’s an awful shift.

So like my job never closed due to Corona and there’s a lot about that’s bs but that’s another post. But one thing that pisses me off to no end is costumers going “aren’t you glad insert store is opening?” Or in the same vein “I hate these masks, I don’t know how you wear them all day, I can’t wait until we don’t have to”. Like Ma’am my dad* is inthe hospital after suffering a stroke and has corona I don’t give a fuck about the masks, I want you to wear and go the hell home. But now of course I can’t say that without getting in trouble but I be thinking it. Like I get it staying home all the time sucks ass but please don’t complain to me because you can’t spend 3 hours in Macy’s. Like I am not saying if you’re at home you can’t complain, I don’t know your circumstances. But if your central issue is that you can’t go spend all day shopping in the mall please don’t complain to the person working through this shit. Like I work retail it’s not the same as someone in the medical field but corona has def exasperated shit.

So you know how people are complaining about having to wear masks and shit. So like there have been a couple incidents where workers were injured by costumers who refused to wear a mask. And that shit really infuriated me and also makes me nervous. Because my job gets people who try to come in without masks (excluding people with issues and infants) and some get Belligerent. And considering the type of white folks that come in to my job, I rather not get injured and/or have a slur thrown at me over this shit.
