Sometimes I joke that King Kansiol probably can’t do anything without Essiahel.
Other times, I genuinely believe that.

Do the different Towers have different areas of specialisation?
Like, both of the Fourth Tower Masters (Essiahel, Mikel) are known for dabbling in forbidden magic and human experimentation.
The Third Tower Master (Karazan) seems to be their envoy, being sent to the council meeting to speak on their behalf during arc 4 and later being sent to the Palace to assist affairs in arc 5.
The Second Tower Master (Benedict) seems to deal with PR and outsiders within the Tower, having tea with guests and constantly calling out to the opposing side about how they'll be dealt with during the all-out brawl with Association during the late 4th arc.
The First Tower Master (Meredith) is of course their leader and head of the whole organisation, as evidenced by Meredith's orders and authority over the others; something which Karazan says will all be his going forward when he rebels against him.
Years later it occurred to me that Essiahel's character is based on those fairy tale villains and witches who ask for your first born child in exchange for granting your wish.
Only this time we got to see a solid reason as to why she wanted the child so badly.
I love how half of the villains of Black Haze don’t go down because they failed or were defeated. No, they were so cunning and thorough that they won. But in the end they did not succeed because they could not control the very power they had sought and they were destroyed by it.
I find it amusing that King Kansiol had three kids and a sister but the only people we saw him interacting with directly were Essiahel, Musso and Lanoste.
Essiahel: The only one who has possessed both marks was King Kansiol.
Me: Oh...? How did he do that...?
Me:
Me: WHAT THE @#%& DID YOU DO TO YOUR SISTER?!?!??!
If Essiahel is female I will crackship Essiahel x Lispen. For no other reason than that they were both cunning manipulative people who played everybody and still managed to fail spectacularly.
If Essiahel is female that would make Essiahel’s description of Lanoste as a “terrifying beauty” even better.
