Bummed bc i have to wait for how the story continues from where it left off in 2017.
Excited that we are getting new art for those first chapters. I really hope this brings a lot of new readers to the greatest manhwa of all time (in my opinion lol)
I have so many questions:
Did the author get the rights back?
Does this mean Charlotte's Disciples is completed?
Will there be any adjustments to the plot since it's being redrawn?
Something that I recently noticed in the interactions between Shicmuon/Yujerian and the Crown Prince is how little attention and acknowledgement the former gives the latter.
Primarily in how Shic NEVER ONCE looks at him directly.
When he's directly in front of him he only looks at the ground
Even then he avoids any conversation with him and turns away ASAP
This contrasts with the way he interacts with others. Sure he may not address them by name or title (God knows if he even remembers who they are), but at the very least he looks at them directly.
Such as him looking at Nuadly when he issues all his orders in the same scene.
But with the Crown Prince he seems to avoids talking to at all
Even when he finally does talk to him, he only does so with his back turned to him.
Cherry on the cake?
We see this dynamic extends all the way to their younger years too. Back when they were kids having tea in the garden... little Yuji has his whole chair literally turned away from him.
(I have literally no idea why it took me this long to notice this properly... but it did lol. That's why Lanoste pops out from the bushes directly in front of him: Yuji was already looking at the hedge with his back to the older prince.)
It would be funny, if the potential reason wasn't so sad: It is probably because the Crown Prince never acknowledged him as a person, so his response was to never give him any proper acknowledgement as a person either.
Side note: This is entirely different from the way he treats Yumehen (who appears to at least treat him as a person) that he does meet the gaze of and talk directly to.
Is he nice to Yumehen? No.
Does he go out of his way to be mean to him? Also no.
He more or less gives him the same degree of recognition and treatment he spares everyone else. (i.e. may not be polite or call him by name but he does face and make direct eye contact while talking to him.)
Really makes you wonder what his older cousin did for him to be THIS dismissive of him when even Yumehen is spared that degree of total extra effort insult.
Years later it occurred to me that Essiahel's character is based on those fairy tale villains and witches who ask for your first born child in exchange for granting your wish.
Only this time we got to see a solid reason as to why she wanted the child so badly.
I still can’t stop thinking about how Crown Prince was figuratively stepping on Yujerian by calling him an existence born to serve the royal family only to be literally stepped on by Blow.
