"Don't worry," Chant assures, with all the self-assured nonchalance of someone about to make themselves a thorough thorn in someone's side. "I was asked to stop in. The last they can do is indulge me a little while I'm here." Of course, they very much doubt they've been summoned for something casual. No, if he's being asked to stop in at the Bismarck, it's because there's something that needs to be handled on it or the head chef's behalf. What it could be remains a mystery, and not even their usual lines of inquiry have information to offer. Eyes follow as they lead Estinien up the nearest ramp to the higher levels of Limsa- not only because of the considerable amount of gold adorning Chant's body, but because of the armor of the spearman accompanying him. Lancers are common things, but a dragoon... now that is certainly a sight, outside of the Holy See.
Whether or not anyone else has realized that his companion is the infamous Azure Dragoon, well... that's hardly Chant's business, is it?
(Not until they find the betting pool, that is.)
"Have you thought about what you want to try? I suggest the stuffed chysahl, personally. The pasta ortolano is also quite good." Foot traffic increases as they reach the area of the Bismarck, and Chant peeks up at Estinien, both gently amused and bemused.
Really, they had to make a liar of him the one time he brought along a friend, hmm?
"I suppose lunch will have to be a little bit late, won't it?" Already, they're reaching for an apron from seemingly nowhere, tying the dark fabric around their waist. "Let's find you a table and a bottle of wine, so you might enjoy the show more comfortably, hmm?"
By the time Chant finally settles back down across from him, it's with another bottle in hand and the frustrated shoulder set of someone that's been assigned something far from their pay grade.
"We're ordering dessert," they inform him loftily as they pour themselves a glass- not of wine, but of brandy. "Many of them." Given the task they've just been assigned, Chant thinks it only fair. "So... what shall we start with?"
New experiences were quite mixed for someone like Estinien who was pretty used to the Ishgardian lifestyle. Cold winters, harsher landscapes, the grand structures of stone-built buildings surrounded by a rised fortress of protection against beasts. There was no such reason why he would opt to try to intervene nor 'acclimate' in another location outside of his own normal realm.
Yet, here he was. Answering the beckoning call of the warrior of light to once again aid them on their quest. Or, so he thinks. Granted, there wasn't any reason for Estininen to really think too deeply about Chant's proposition to have him tag along. In fact, Estinien had instinctively joined for the sole reason to follow the curious path of what laid ahead of them during this so-called 'quest'.
Which is how they ended up stepping up the stairs towards the upper deck of Limsa Lominsa. A city of much sun and less formal attitude. A fish out of water would be one's first thought when bringing a dragoon of all people here. Conversations would halt and attention would glimpse at the pair when they moved towards their unknown location. A mixture of surprise, curiosity, and hushed gossip fluttered between the daily life around them.
It bothered not the dragoon, however. His gaze, strong and unyielding, merely passed over faces as he continued his rhythmic steps beside Chant. Offering a polite head nod each time his attention lingered a little too long than most, although keeping his mouth shut out of wonder and curiosity: What kind of business enticed Chant to invite him here, of all places?
It felt warm and relaxing, the sea breeze off to the side tasting of cool salt and white foam. A stark difference from the cold winter's breath that matched the color of his armor more than white sand.
"Hmm… I haven't put too much thought into it, but it would be dangerous to give me only a few choices, wouldn't it, warrior of light? Haha, perhaps they wouldn't be ready for a Dragoon's hunger…"
He trails off and mulls over the choices at hand. In all honesty, he could give a taste of what Limsa had to offer. Perhaps his stubborn pride in Ishgard would overlap his enjoyment in the meal, but since he WAS hungry, it didn't seem likely Estinien would pass up anything offered to him in the slightest. God forbid anyone give him a selection, he would dare to follow where his curiosity was leading him- and that was where Chant had been guiding him.
"Ah- I see, the famed Bismarck of Limsa Lominsa? You've had me thinking that we were up to something else, but catch me off guard, will you…"
Amusement smiled in his words as he brings a hand up to cover his mouth in impressed intrigue. Wow, Chant surely had fooled him, huh? No, he wasn't ashamed in the slightest. The dragoon was thorougly impressed and humored by the lead Chant had taken- so it was only natural for the dragoon to follow the warrior of light along. A 'treat yourself' kind of initiative, as one would have it.
Hopefully, the Bismarck was prepared. Estinien will not go easy on sampling what delicacies they had to offer, especially for a place stapled after the famed white whale of legend. Surely, Chant knew what was coming if they brought him here on a whim- request or not.
Surprised (pleasantly) at the shift into dessert now, rather than lunch, Estinien had kept his curiosity fed by following along with Chant's suggestion. Wine AND a show? Wow, he certainly wasn't expecting to be treated to this today, yet he wholely seems accepting of it when settling at the vacant table awaiting for the both of them. As if, all along, it had been chosen just for them.
A chuckle following the interesting glean in his eyes, Estinien simply (attempts) to make himself comfortable while acknowledging Chant with a nod in their direction.
"Haha, well, you have outdone yourself in taking my expectations and tossing them into the wind with your presentation. I'm delighted, and also curious at how well you blind-sided me here,"
He says with a rather amused (and humbled) tick of his lips.
"…Very well, then. Since your confidence has bested me THIS time, you may humor me, warrior of light."
He leans slightly forward, an arm welcoming the newfound energy with a small beckoning movement. A gentle taunt, if not a friendly gesture to 'bring him his best' to Chant.
"What say you offer me something that I may never forget. Are you up to that challenge?"
The trick here is, anything honestly would be unforgettable to Estinien here. Certainly because Chant had outdone themselves, to the azure dragoon's delight.
