Crap. Is he late, again!? He's charging down the corridor, wrapped cat plushie in hand, and barrelling headlong into where he thought Hiruko would be at this hour- in the Leisure Lounge.
"Hey- Hiruko! Sorry I didn't mean to fo- aaaaugh!"
Except at that pace, he couldn't stop as he found himself skittering on the smooth, tiled floor. The gift-wrapped toy went careening with him as he flipped on his heels and splashed in the pool- hard on his back. Winded, he held the thing aloft so that it'd not be getting as soaked as he is, only to not realise he was holding his breath and sinking under, at that point.
With that, he aimed to throw it back while he tried to right himself- while now taking in a mouthful of water and spluttering. Nice going…
// Happy (slightly belated) birthday Hiruko!!
One would think that lounging in one of the most comfortable and most luxurious spot in the whole SDU would bring a sense of ease to one's soul. The humidity from the lukewarm pool offered a veil of comfort that Hiruko had sought for the moment. Allowing the stress and tense-ness of battle to melt away into a puddle of forgotten responsibilities. It's her time, after all. She deserves it while putting up with the complaints and the constant eye-rolling around here.
Well, almost Her form currently resting comfortably in one of the lounges next to the pool. Her hair pulled to the side, eyes closed and head craned back ever so slightly.
Perfect. Nothing could beat this moment at all. Not even if the chance that the sirens would go off, she would rather be stuck in this moment in her own solitutde.
It happened in such a quick and rapid rate that Hiruko could've blinked and she would've missed it if it wasn't for the sudden noise. The quickened footsteps she heard echoing off out somewhere in the hallway, to the door suddenly being pushed open, to the sudden SPLASH-! Water trickling everywhere (even spraying on herself, good thing she was wearing her swim suit) all the while the blur of red and blue had (clumsily) careened himself right into the pool.
Mouth open, Hiruko was about to pull a remark out of thing air when suddenly-! A gift box had landed miraculously right into her lap.
While Takumi had been struggling to pull himself from his stupor, Hiruko opted to withhold her comment. Her quietness punctuating the setting- with exception to the frantic splashing that her Team Leader was doing.
Pulling the ribbon and gift wrap off with ease, Hiruko peers inside of the box... and her eyes widen shockingly enough.
How did he... Okay, he was either a good mind reader (doubt) or incredibly skillful at picking her apart like this. Part of her felt a bubble of caution with how well Takumi can see through her- but another part of her... felt like pride swelling in her chest.
Placing the box to her side (lid closed, not changing anyone taking a peek as to what he had just given her) Hiruko got up from her lounge and leisurely strolled towards the edge of the pool. Lips quirking into a knowing smirk, Hiruko leans down to sit at the edge. Dipping her feet right in, then pushing off into the pool itself.
"I won't let you drown, die, then run back and repeat it again, Sumino. The fact that you gave me that gift... honestly, I would count this as a favor of sorts. You don't mention what you got me and keep it between us... and I'll help you float out of here."
She swims beside him, hands grasping his wrists powerful enough to cut his struggling.
"Well, well. Happy birthday to me, then. Come, Sumino. When I get you out of here, at least show me what you were going to say before wanting to play lifeguard with me like this."
She certainly couldn't help the fact that her coy smile is definitely seen as she tugs him along towards the pool's edge. Yeah, she certainly likes seeing him struggle like this. What a good gift, this is to her.
