Etching plate and prints from todays class. Wow etching is so much easier than I thought it would be. It took me about 2.5 hours to complete though and it's only A5 x.x so worth the effort though. It's true what they say, rubbing the ink off the plate is the most meticulous and time consuming part. All the tones of ink and marks made in the background were all done on purpose, thought out carefully. I love it. Great fun. Have a go if you guys ever get the chance

Donatello from Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is Gutenberg Violet Blue Etching Ink

reasoning:

many artists aren't fans of printing, especially etching prints. look at any fine art course with a printing module, and you'll typically find the people who stay printing are in a small but devout minority. donatello, within rise, is sort of hard to like. he's rude, reckless, and somewhat violent. despite this, his generally unpopular personality makes for very devout fans (although i'm not sure i'd call them a minority). from what i can see, the violet blue colour is also very similar to the cold purple we see donnie wearing as his signature colour.

I've been doing some monotypes today... so it's no surprise that todays drawing for Inktober 2016 ist a monotype with etching ink :'D
