This movie takes alot of shots from other movies its like a love letter to 80s cinema.
I hate David's mom why is she getting mad at Alex when she literally assaulted him in the beginning of the movie.
I liked the end because alex was on the way to healing from his trauma.
Also thinking about the dance scene makes me cry.
When i first saw it I was about to laugh then I realized this is what David wanted and Alex is the best friend for keeping his promise.
Reminds me of the guy who wore a green dress to his best friend's funeral because they made a pact that if one of them died the other who is alive has to wear a dress to the dead friend funeral. I think its sweet. I view it as devotion and a way to make the dead friend laugh from heaven. Sailing from Rod Stewart has me in a choke hold. I also love Kate. She told Alex the truth that sometimes we make up the people we love. I think the romance here is better than "call me by your name" due to the age gap not being as big but also david is still 18 and an adult. Why are we blaming a little 16 old boy? Also David seduced everyone even his own teacher what is going on with that boy. I love the kiss Kate gives Alex because they do it in heated rivalry as well. For example Stvetlvana kisses ilya after she tells him that she knows Jane is a he and that liya truthly loves Jane and not her. Then when Rose kisses Shane after he came out as a gay to her. It's like a sign of platonic love from a women.
Thank you Summer of 85
