Since I started this species exploration... thing-y, I knew I wanted to divide the water horses into two categories. Partially because I am still mad that the show made hippocampus and hippogriffin the same species for some reason, and partially because I know that there are "sirens" in the Equestria Girl episode/movie (might even be working on their designs too 👀). So, I took inspiration from mythology (as it is a surprise to no one) and used the hippocampus from greek and roman myths and the kelpie from celtic and norse myths, but I gave them my own lil spin off

I like the film I thought the theme was great. The Curse was definitely a metaphor for repression of identity or hate because it was rooted in homophobia. I thought they're love story was tender and sweet. The only thing I didn't like was the ending that the curse was still active they had just decided to ignore it. To me its shows that the curse/ homophobia can never leave and it can take the form of your loved ones. I thought they would break the curse but I guess life isn't that fair. Atleast they are happy and away from they're toxic families. Also I didn't mention any names because I watched it in June and forgot they're names.
