ethan wanted charlotte too, as much as he'd tried to get over her with other girls ── they just weren't the same. they weren't her. "so i've ruined you then? no one can satisfy you the way i can?"

ethan had spent weeks convincing his parents that he should be allowed to spend a few weeks at the family's summer cabin unaccompanied, and apparently so had charlotte ── so it came as no surprise to him when their parents told them both they could go, as long as they went together. this was not a problem for him; it meant that he could spend a lot of time with charlotte, getting to know her a lot better.

"did you bring your bikini?" he didn't even spare her a glance, eyes glued to the road as he drove the pair down the quite stretch towards the cabin. "if i remember correctly, we added a hot tub last year." not to mention they had their own private beach. "can't wait to see how much skin you show."

there was nothing like a boring family dinner. their parents were sat at either end of the table, engrossed in their own boring conversation, while charlotte sat across from him. he knew their parents were oblivious to anything they did, so it was easy for ethan to cast the occasional lustful glance across the table at the blonde. with a mischievous smirk splayed across his features, he raised his foot to rest on her chair between her legs ── big toe barely grazing over her underwear.

With a glassy look glossing over his face and eyes, Ethan stared at the wall in front of him as he put his shirt back on. Ethan considered himself of relative to above average intelligence, but why was it that he was thinking with an appendage that wasn’t his brain or heart? Maybe he’d come to the acceptance part that comes after denial when it came to this situation. Maybe he just accepted that this was all it was going to be and no amount of trying to convince Callie otherwise was going to change the situation or her mind. He liked her just as much as (or maybe even more than) he, in whatever method he could, admitted. “We have to stop meeting this way,” he suggested, trying to make light of it. Of course, ‘meeting this way’ was a loose term to describe exactly what the last fifteen or so minutes was. It was probably subliminally more hinted at by the way he buckled up his jeans as he stood up. @sierramused
