helping hands | ethan
Between babies, toddlers, parents, dogs, and a nanny in law, it was safe to say that Marco Cavaliere had his hands full since Halloween night. He’d been back and forth between the house and the hospital, as well as the store and his restaurant checking on things for his guests, his employees and customers, his kids, and the three dogs and additional three puppies that had been living in their townhouse for the past months. The thought of it all could be enough to stress any person out, but somehow Marco could juggle it without going crazy.
Still, he couldn’t help but reach out for a helping hand as the time that Madison would finally be home from the hospital came near. She’d still be limited on what she could do after giving birth, especially so early, and Marco wasn’t going to put off getting the house ready on his parents and Madison’s former nanny. They were guests after all. Ethan had been a good friend since Marco and Madison had initially moved to New York and was always so eager to help in times of need, so he was who Marco eventually reached out to. Sitting on his stoop with Gemma in his lap, Marco waited to see Ethan arrive.

M: Hey, it's Marco.
M: I was thinking of taking you up on that offer to get out sometime.
Nitecap | Marco/Ethan
The sky had begun to warm with pink and orange hues while Marco made his way to the address Ethan had given him for the Nitecap. The name sounded like enough to draw Marco in, and knowing New York there had to be a plethora of good bars to visit. Marco had always been a bit of a bar snob and picky about places that he went to in general, blaming it on the fact that he owned a nightclub and bar himself and the standards he held his own businesses to when he was present and in charge of them.
Still, Marco was new to the city and was severely lacking in the friend department. He’d made companionships with some of the people he’d met through work, but those were usually strictly work with a few small conversations on the side. Ethan’s personality sat well with Marco’s when he met him and throughout the conversations and interactions they’d had. The Italian wouldn’t dare insult Ethan by being doubtful of the place he’d suggested they’d go to, especially when Marco had asked for him to pick in the first place.
As Marco approached the entrance he could see why Ethan said it was easy to miss, the doorway nothing that stood out against the street. Before he ducked inside Marco sent a quick text to Ethan. “I’m here, I’ll be looking for you,” he typed and waited for the message to send, not wanting it to get lost in the case of poor cell service inside of the building.
