Annabeth, still as hubristic ever, wants a throne for her mother, yes. But she doesn't particularly care about balance. She's vengeful and petty and in Nemesis's humble opinion, has wayyy too much faith in her own schemes and abilities. She doesn't like that Annabeth isn't willing to sacrifice a body part/hj

Ethan who took the Mark of Athena quest pre-botl AND FAILED. He did not die and somehow managed to escape but he's never doing this for his mother again. Nuh uh. Athena and Ethan both have a mutual hatred of eachother lol

I woke up thinking about the potential of Ethabeth and I'm not ok : just think about Annabeth who blames herself for not being able to save Luke and bring him back and who would come across Ethan just before he left CHB. They never really talked to each other but she recognizes the silent guy who always stay in the background whenever they do an activity. And now she wants to help him, to do what she couldn't do for Luke. She's able to convince him to remain at the camp longer but Ethan ends up leaving anyway. When he pledges allegiance to Kronos, it's another stab in the heart for Annabeth who loses another friend. But in the end, when he sees Kronos attacking Annabeth and try to kill her, Ethan intervenes and stops him, he's hurt but will make it. And when Luke is dying and ask Percy to make sure none of this can ever happen again, he looks at Annabeth and tell her she already started it. She couldn't save the guy she loved but she did save the one who'll make her fall in love again.
