Now you may or may not have noticed (as I keep updating this junk of a blog) but my favourite franchise ever is a cartoon called “Xiaolin Showdown”, it recently had a revamp called “Xiaolin Chronicles” and while it wasn’t as good as Showdown it still is a part of my fave franchise.

I adore it for its comedy, its characters, the stories told in each episode, the personalities for each character and much more. I watched it as a child and to this day me and many of my friends adore talking about it and doing art for it, even rping about it with original or cannon characters.

I’ve even cosplayed as the main villain Jack Spicer as he and his good counterpart are my fave characters within the show. He’s badass, smart, cool and goofy and has a mission in life to rule the world with his robot creations he calls “Jack-bots”.

Ages ago I used to run a blog called “Ask the XS Cast” where you sent in a bunch of questions to the cast of Xiaolin Showdown/Chronicles and I gave answers both of my own opinion or a goofy responce, it’s safe to say it was rather popular. Sadly I have grown rather busy so the blog no longer runs, but I’ve had a great time and had a lot of fun doing. I may start one up again when I have time but for now it’s in rest.

You’ll see me post a lot of things of XS/XC over the course of this blog as it grows so I hope you don’t mind seeing countless oc stuff, doodles and other such things.

Now along with my love of XS I wanted to create my own comic based on the series, my best fan made comic I’ve created so far. At the moment there are 102 pages within 3 chapters. I’ve been working on it for a while now since 2012, I’ve fallen in and out of working on it and REALLY it should have been finished by now.

I had made it when the info of Xiaolin Showdown getting a revamp, this had given me a great feeling of joy to have it back in my life but there was also the fear of it not going well, usually when a film has gotten a new squeal it gets absolutely wrecked. So out of concern for my own joy I decided to make the comic portraying what I’d like to see, e.g what kind of stories I wanted to see, what new shen gong wu I’d want them to bring to the showdowns and etc.

I know it was only a side thing but this comic has brought me so much more then just me fan girling, it’s brought more friends into my life, it’s allowed my art to improve as I was passionate how I wanted certain scenes to look and the BEST of all that this fan comic has introduced me to is my best friend. She was a constant commenter on my pages and over time I responded to her and we hit it off right off the bat, now over these past 5 years we’ve grown the bestest of friends and we’re planning to move in together (when I can find a job closer to her).

Yo guys!! I had my first comic convention table yesterday and it went well, had lots of fun! I can’t wait to do it again! Had my best friend join me at the table and I’m so grateful to her!!

So aside from drawing I do have another talent for doll making. I find these really fun and challenging to make. I only do these by request and these are just a few I have made for friends and other customers.

So I have been blessed with the opportunity to have my first table at a small comic convention in my old college I used to go to a few years ago. I’m really nervous and can’t wait to put my art out there in the world for random people to see physically. I’m worried that my style or my skill isn’t quite ready to go out there but then again I see soo many people do it and I want to take that plunge and just go for it. 

I want to go far with my art and I want to get better, I wanna do art on things people don’t see a lot of, I want to draw things that will make people remember stuff they haven’t seen in years like an old game or an old tv/anime they watched. When I have cosplayed as Jack Spicer I got a lot of comments as I walked around, people were both surprised and happy to see someone cosplay as something rare and not done before or not as much. I remember the feeling it gave me and it felt great, I also remember how happy they were to see it and I wanna bring that same feeling with things I make.

So for my first con I hope this goes well as I want to make more things people don’t see and bring joy to them. Wish me luck guys!

Migration

Hey all those that do follow me on here or on DeviantART. I have had a lot of thought about where to place my artwork and although all of my artwork is on DeviantART I don’t seem to get any response or life from there even when I ask for feedback.

To me it seems like that the heat has gone down or something cause I don’t update enough (my own fault) but with hopes to rekindle my updating vibe I am going to try and post on HERE instead of DeviantART. 

((although it may take some time getting used to that idea))

Some ideas are still floating around in my head such as possibly making a new DeviantART to see if that helps or just posting here and on Twitter. But Twitter seems rather limited to what I can post....eehhh

Anyway, I’ma start throwing art on here and see what happens.
