Psychology and ethics are extremely close sciences, psychology deals with the study of the mind, while ethics deals with the study of human behavior; and between the nature of mind and behavior there is a relationship.
Ethics starts from a principle: two mentalities, two paths, two rewards. Said in more practical terms: we are benevolent, uplifting, progressive; or we are involutive, chaotic, unfair, destructive. Mindsets translate into paths: “We sin or we live righteously”. And the paths in life goals: "The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissension, factions and envy, drunkenness, orgies and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law"; Galatians 5:19-23.
Ethics also studies the laws to which human behavior is subject, such as the law of harvest and sowing: "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life", Galatians 6:8.
Ethics has an influence on religions, when Jesus speaks to us about the doctrine of the Kingdom of God, he speaks to us about conversion, which is the passage from a life full of sins to a life of righteousness. The doctrine of the Kingdom of heaven is an ethical doctrine. Jesus seeks the conversion of sinners, because by the law of return sin produces suffering.
Psychology, on the other hand, studies disorders of the mind and their treatment, psychology seeks to explain the reasons for human behavior. Ethics can contribute a lot to the development of psychology, the science of psychology, it can be said, is still a science in development, psychology does not accept, for example, the indigo children. Ethics and psychology are parallel studies that ultimately are in search of the same thing, the good and happiness of man.
