Nothing feels more restful than taking a nap in the theatre...
GUYS! So I posted on Facebook complaining about how my favorite professor had, last minute before the semester started, moved to China to teach. I really enjoyed his classes last year and was really looking forward to having another year with him, but then we got to class and found out he left without telling us (it's a VERY small theater program, more akin to a family), so I was feeling very hurt and bitter about it. The next day my professor finds my post on Facebook and comments on it, reassuring us to how he misses us too and wishing us luck for the rest of the year. Just something really simple but it meant a lot. It made me feel a little better about the whole situation (and the fact that he recommended the guy who is replacing him here). It makes me really incredibly grateful for the program God has placed me in. We are a family, and when one of us is hurting, we rally behind each other to lift us up. We're on a first name, meet regularly to talk about life and issues, basis with our professors. How many other college students can say that? How many can say that just a few months ago they were at a wedding (between two fellow students) dancing to the Cupid Shuffle with a professor and director? How many students can sit around and joke with the dean of their program? How many can say they've been up on a ladder, hanging lights and building the set side-by-side with their professor and assistant-dean? How many of your professors who have left, have found your Facebook just to let you know it'll all be okay? I love, and will love forever, these amazing people I get to work and study and live with. Sorry about the long post, but I just have to give God the glory because this is all his doing, and he deserves every praise. Hopefully we will meet again, Jayson, somewhere in the future.
