Here is a pair of re-worked vintage Japanese monpe (farmer pants) that I did for my pal Michiyo @lilwoodsvintage I sewed the sides up and added a large pocket on either side made from vintage kimono. Added a drawstring waist made from vintage indigo Chinese futon fabric, added some other vintage Japanese fabric scraps for a patchwork design and did a little (amateur) sashiko stitchwork. Materials are vintage Navajo rug remnants, vintage American quilts, Kantha quilt remnants, various leathers, hair on pony hide, Middle Eastern rug remnants, vintage curtain tassels, hand cut and stamped leather concho/medallions, rawhide Ford, brass grommets and hardware, copper rivets, adjustable leather shoulder straps made from vintage gun slings, horse tack, buffalo shoulder, military belts and cowhide. All bags lined with selvedge denim. $150 plus shipping each. When they are added to the web store, they will be more expensive. First come, first served. Just finished up this Chimayo blanket duffle. This is the kind of special order I enjoy the most. My buddy @red_rabbit_ia said he wanted a Chimayo bag for an upcoming trip to the @clutchmagazinejapan show in Yokohama next month. He gave me free rein to do what I wanted. Vintage Chimayo blanket, distressed leather foot, vintage leather handgrips, vintage tooled belt for a shoulder strap, copper rivets, brass rings, dead stock 1970's military zipper, lined with Japanese selvedge denim, four 1950's wheat pennies as rivet reinforcement where the straps meet the foot of the bag.
