smh bbc uploaded an article about there being very little welsh-language commentary about the election online and as an example said that ‘parti gwyrdd’ (green party) hadn’t been used once
and i’m just sat here thinking, first of all i bet they only looked for the plain terms and not the mutated forms, and secondly, no wonder you found no tweets with ‘parti gwyrdd’ in it because that is literally ‘a green party’. as in, a social event that happens to be green. the word for a political party is ‘plaid’; the green party in welsh is ‘plaid werdd’.
parti gwyrdd sounds like they ran it through google translate (which, knowing the bbc, they probably did)
