from an obbyist perspective i'm genuinely so angry at roblox's planned removal of R6.

i barely just got into obbying for real, joining back for EToH's winter update. i had made some progress before, beaten like 30 towers think, maybe 20, but hadn't unlocked even Ring 3. yet upon playing over the course of the winter update and beyond, i've expanded to Ring and Zone 8, up to like 85+ towers now. my first intense was SANTA, actually. never thought i'd beat it and now i've beat like 5 intenses. 100%ed Purgatorio, even the tower rush. technically beat a rem but it was an old event steeple and i cheesed it by skipping (mostly) the rising lava.

point is, even though i haven't been here for long, i've already done so much. i think, my life has even been changed by this game. i've developed a new outlook on failure, and even effective albeit strange discouragement of bad habits (looking at you ToTUTU... (it's peak tho frfr)).

i've been trying to crack a true rem, putting attempts on both ToTEM and ToAF. i know they're possible for me i just have not completed a run yet.

and now i'm faced with the knowledge that i might not ever. thanks to roblox saying their goal is to cut R6.

the chat update was annoying. dynamic faces didn't truly effect me as my avatar's face wasn't visible but i knew it was bad for all other players.

but R6? that's the only damn reason i'm here.

that's the only thing you cannot take from me.

that's the last semblance of your true soul, roblox.

this affects not only me but all obbyists across roblox. EToH, CSCD, tiered obbies.. even those shitty ass difficulty chart obbies. all gone. it would be the death of an entire genre.

they've already killed roleplay, and now they're killing obbies. OBBIES. which, arguably, have existed longer than roleplay.

i like to think i'm not one to be pessimistic. but goddamn am i so upset about it. i'm mourning the loss of a game that isn't dead yet.

i don't even know what's going to happen. this has got to be effecting the staff and creators of all these games too, right? how are they going to manage this? are they just gonna shut down if roblox truly removes R6? leave it up as history? archive it all somewhere else?

this is an old art which is why its bad. but its only like 10 months old so i assume art expires like avocados or something like that
