As a young children we would visit town in our Sunday best and follow around after mum while she visited all the big department stores in search of a bargain at the sales. If we were good we were treated to a sandwich, an iconic South Aussie 'Frog Cake' and a milkshake. Cafeterias were in all the big stores and fed many hungry people during their lunch break for a modest price. These cut glass sugar and syrup dispensers were on every table.
