Personally, I have loved working on Etsy. I started on Etsy because it's taken me so long to find time to create my own shopfiy store, but in the meantime, Etsy has been there as a great alternative. But all the new policies they have put in the place over the last few years are to squeeze as much money out of sellers as possible. From forcing makers into paying for off site Ads, to making us feel that we can no longer offer letter class shipping on small items like stickers and patches. At the same time, they hike up their fees by 30%, forcing owners to raise their prices so they can still make a living wage. It's not fair to small business owners, the people who make Etsy as great as it is. The etsy platform is meant to be a tool to help small businesses but the policies they've been putting in place especially during the pandemic have been created to line their own pockets nothing more. I've seen so many artists get fed up with Etsy and abandon the platform. I don't want to have to do the same, I hope Etsy can recognize their mistakes and work with their artists to change and make the platform work to benefit everyone. This strike is to let Etsy know loud and clear that somthing has to change.
