I just took the WEIRDEST quiz
so I applied for this job and when the responded it wasn’t with a “sorry you got rejected” or “hi you’ve moved onto the next round, go to this link to set up an interview time” but it was “take this personality quiz so we can see if you’re a good fit for our company.”
and I go “whack, but ok....” and start up the system. They frame it as a “game” to make it fun and engaging and low-stress (or some such nonsense), and the setup was that they show you two stock photos of people doing professional looking stuff with the captions “I am more like...” and then you have to pick one of the two.
but the pictures were so weird???????????????
Like, if they show you someone with a disorganized vs organized desk, OBVIOUSLY you’re going to pick the organized one because you want this job, right???? Or someone sleeping on the couch vs running. You’re going to pick running because you’re motivated and ambitious or whatever it is they’re looking for.
Some of them didn’t have anything to do with each other. It would be somebody doing community service vs the runner and I’m guessing they wanted to see which one you value more, but also why can’t it be both?
and it was timed, so now I’m both overthinking and rushing in a panic. Results of course were “you don’t get stressed easily” well yeah no kidding I clicked all the pictures of the people calmly doing work and not the stock photo result for “frantic”.
and at the end it said “We worked with a team of 10 psychologists to develop the games you completed to discover the unique competencies you possess.” and “ Our team of experts develops scientifically validated assessments that evaluate skills needed for the job and help reduce bias. We evaluated your gameplay to assess how you interact with and process information.”
like??? NO?? my zodiac would be more accurate!
Idec if I don’t get the job I’m just BAFFLED that I live in a world where this is ok and taken seriously
