26, 31, 42! for anyone you like!
- @akindofmagictoo
Thanks for the ask! I think this was an older one, thank you for waiting! I'll answer this for the Teagan sisters post book :)
26. How quickly does your OC reach their breaking point? What are they like when this point has been reached?
When they go back to the Human world, Hannah struggles to articulate to their parents what the adventure meant to her and with strangers, she has to keep it all a secret to protect her sisters, while also explaining where Tess came from. She's glad to be home but that also means she has to go back to being a kid: including not being taken seriously, being grilled with random dumb questions, and trying to find that right balance of white lies and the truth when she's someone who likes black and white answers and evidence. In the Seelie Court, Brigid wouldn't let her fight like an adult but the Powers also treated her with respect and took her concerns seriously. So sometimes she can brush human annoyances off like "it's not as bad as fighting the Piper" but other times she wants to scream and snap back. "Teenage attitude" and all that.
Cecelia struggles to adjust to "unmasking" her fae identity so to speak? She can be a changeling at home but not in public and it's weird being fae with parents who aren't used to that so it's an adjustment for everyone involved. When she gets upset she leaves and visits the Seelie Court for a bit to cool down, then comes home.
Tess has to deal with the thing where she's spent so much of her life in survival mode that being in a safe place finally does push her to her breaking point in a lot of ways. She realizes "oh I never deserved that" or "oh I was awful all along I shouldn't have done that" and acts out and breaks down because she doesn't want to admit that!!! We see a bit of this behavior in the epilogue but eventually she becomes more comfortable.
31. Are there any places or people your OC is avoiding?
Hannah doesn't really like the Seelie Monarchs. Even when they go back to visit their friends, she goes out of her way to stay out of their way.
All the girls but especially Cecelia and Tess obviously want to stay far far far away from the Piper and the Unseelie Court. Even though he can't bother them any more, they don't want to risk it. Sometimes the Twins or Querci do missions there and Hannah will join them but they don't go along.
Tess hates rats and rodents, even though Hannah's explained that the Piper controlled them just like her and they're just animals.
42. How easily influenced by others is your OC?
Hannah - not very? She's very stubborn. She can be convinced to do something if it makes sense to her but she's not especially easy to sway.
Cecelia - I think there's a 50/50 chance of whether she follows Hannah's lead because she's loyal to her older sister ringleader, or if she does the exact opposite of what Hannah does because "you can't tell me what to do :P"
Tess was very easily controlled by fear for a long time and I think it takes her a while to shake that but as she becomes more confident and secure in her identity, she becomes very very hard to influence. She spent way too long doing things because she had to and now she won't do anything if she doesn't want to.
Thanks again :)
