I voted to remain in the EU, but the EU's behavior since then has turned me into an enthusiastic Brexiteer.
At last, the UK has broken away. The EU now regard the UK as a rival, if not as an enemy, and at least some elements of the EU will do whatever it can to sabotage the UK.
But the EU is so bureaucratic and undemocratic that it is likely to dissolve in the next few years, unless it uses its proposed army to prevent other member nations from leaving.
France: I’m tired of America acting like the boss. I’m supposed to be the big brother.
Germany: Then, what do you suggest we do about it, France?
France: Remember when we signed the treaty of the European Defense Community, Allemagne?

America: None of that is happening under my watch!

However, the approaches to achieving this aim vary significantly, influenced by the positions of different political factions and the specific countries they represent. Marie-Agnes Strack Zimmermann…
There are three good reasons to support the development of an EU army - according to the Irish Times
Moulding Irish public opinion in preparation for an EU Common defence.
The Irish Times, not unexpectedly, has joined the many recent calls for an EU Army but was hardly complete in its bio of the author of the article, Prof. John O’Brennan. You could add that he’s the Jean Monnet Chair (the EU funds 75% of the cost) in European Integration and the Director of the Maynooth Centre for European and Eurasian Studies which is a designated Jean Monet Centre of Excellence…

Preparatory work for NATO alignment or an EU Army
The Army Ranger Wing (ARW), the most elite and secretive unit of the Defence Forces, is to undertake the largest expansion and restructuring in its history. The changes mirror those in other western militaries which have increased the size of their special operations forces while also granting them more autonomy and status. One of the first steps for the Defence Forces will be restructuring the…
