I screamed when i saw that according the exit poll (the last poll before we get the accrual result of the EU election in Sweden) that the sweden democrats (bad, bad bad) ended up in fourth place (when expected second) behind the social democrats, moderaterna and the green party (surprise!!).
Let's hope and pray that they go even lower
Is there any media (in any language) about the EU's proposals about hate speech legislation?
MEPs call on the Council to finally make progress on legislation to ensure an adequate level of protection from hate for everyone in Euro
We need this to be an issue people talk about ahead of the election and to hold our politicians to account. Ask them in person when they're campaigning on the street, email them. Ask them if we want Scottish-style hate crime legislation in the EU.

Scotland's new Hate Crime Act is fraught with danger
There is an EU election in June, so in case I have any followers living in a country where you have to register to vote: Please remember to register, and please remember to vote and tell atleast one person you know to do the same.
What Europe does for me
EU’s impact on individual citizens lives and local communities
"The interactive, multilingual, ‘What Europe Does For Me’ website, put together by the European Parliament's Research Service, presents hundreds of short, easy-to-read, documents that give examples of the positive difference that the EU makes to people's lives. Users can easily find specific information about what Europe does for their region, their profession or their favourite pastime."
well, at least sweden is moving in the right direction
can't really say the same about the rest of you guys
I found ONE party who actually talks about implementing the UN convention on the rights of persons with disabilities. It's a micro-party.
Granted, I only read the manifests of left or left leaning parties. Could be that the alt-right is talking about putting us all in camps or something, I wouldn't know.
Yesterday my heart sunk into my stomach because I got an election notification for the *German* part of the European election, when I had applied to be taken off the German voter rolls and be put on the Dutch ones. So I took it to the office where the people sit who help people vote ahead of time (if they are traveling or stuff) because they'd probably be able to help me figure out if something had gone wrong, right?
And they were! They called someone and confirmed that I had been taken off the voter rolls, but that the notification had already been sent out, apparently just taking a bit long to get to me. So I got to rip up the election notification in front of a room of people, which was very satisfying =D
